The Pearl is first and foremost a bar/lounge. They have decent bar food, but it's secondary to the vibes and people watching. Now that I've been there a few times, there are three major areas: the upstairs, decorated in a space theme, is sometimes blocked off as a separate party/event, as is the "Jungle Room" downstairs. The "Rose Room" is the main space with the restaurant, bar, and lounge inside. Each space has its own stage and upstairs is a large warehouse-like space for dancing with a separate bar. The space and the acts that frequent it seem community-based and DIY.
The first time I went, a random Saturday night, upstairs was fairly empty, but the folks there were there to dance and we still had a good time. I would definitely go again, but if I want to dance, would probably prioritize theme nights or specific artists, as the music has been pretty hit or miss.
Pride, in particular, was a very large Sapphic party with very mid music: we danced to it, but it was a struggle. Upstairs, the music was poorly mixed and largely unrecognizable; in the Jungle Room, it was marginally better, but there's no AC, so the smaller room was too hot and humid to really want to move.
I know they're newer to the scene, so I'm hoping this is just a growing pain while they find their regulars. Other than that, the vibes are immaculate and The...
Read moreWow, what an absolute treat it is to hear your music blasting at 210 beats per minute five blocks away â especially at 2am. Truly, nothing says "community spirit" like involuntary rave sessions for an entire neighborhood trying to sleep. Permanent ear damage? Worth it, apparently.
Just a wild idea: maybe consider turning the volume down a notch or two? The surrounding community â you know, the people who actually live here â might appreciate not having their windows rattle while theyâre inside their supposedly soundproof homes.
Weâve only been living here for years before you blessed us with your grand opening a month ago (congrats, by the way đ). Weâre thrilled for you. Really. But some of us actually have jobs, families, and this little thing called a circadian rhythm.
Shockingly, even being several blocks away in a new building with full soundproofing isnât enough to escape your 2 a.m. bass drops. Impressive, honestly.
On a side note, your restrooms are absolutely gross. I walked in and turned around as fast as I could. Touching anything felt like I was going to pick up an unwanted health condition. Please do something about that.
Thanks a ton for considering your neighbors â past, present, and sleep-deprived.
Sincerely, Literally...
Read moreWe hosted our wedding reception at The Pearl, and the experience was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. Sheli, our main contact, was incredibly responsive and thoughtful, ensuring every detail aligned with our vision. Christy, the bar manager, and Ashley, the head chef, went above and beyond to bring our ideas to life and make sure our guests were well cared for.
The entire crew was polite, respectful, and full of warmth. They made us feel genuinely welcome and supported throughout the planning process and on the day of the event. Any time a question or challenge came up, they offered quick, helpful solutions with professionalism and grace.
The menu was a highlight â not only was everything delicious, but they also made sure to include fantastic vegan and gluten-free options that our guests raved about. The bar staff were a blast to work with â so fun, friendly, and accommodating. They even crafted specialty cocktails just for us, which added a memorable personal touch to the evening.
We couldnât have asked for a better venue or team to help bring our event to life. Thank...
