Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Destin

Wife ordered our food from Destin hungry Howie's by the midbay bridge and had an estimated time of 60 min. We ordered a small pizza, wings, and a 2 liter. The website gives the option for the wings to be cooked up to 3x so the wings come crispy and we always get them ran through the oven 3x. After 100 min we were concerned something went wrong but as we start to call hungry Howie's I see the delivery guy in the parking lot so I hang up. Once our food finally arrives I knew I'd better check it and of course both the pizza and the wings were cold and the wings weren't cooked as ordered. After waiting 2 hrs to get my dinner I was offered another 45 min wait for them to properly deliver my food, get a 50% discount, or come in next time to see if they can get it right at a later date. We are in a hotel so we cant just put the food in the oven ourselves which we shouldn't have to do that after paying them to cook it and of course paying a tip for the driver ontop of the automatic delivery tip. So my choices are limited to eating cold food that isn't cooked how we ordered or wait another 45 min after waiting 100 min to get our food made again. Extremely frustrated and completely ruined my dinner and my appetite so thank you for not paying attention to my order and delivering cold food. I guess my wife was right about delivery from hungry Howie's and now I understand why I should never order delivery from hungry Howie's. From now on I'll have to go sit in the business and check my food before leaving which is extremely ridiculous considering i have been a server for 8 yrs and i know how to properly take care of to go orders and check that everything is correct and gets to my customers while its fresh and hot. I know it's just the employees working at the time I ordered and not the business because I don't have these problems at my regular location and I've been ordering there for 15 yrs. By the length of my review I'm sure you can tell I'm fed up with spending extra money to support local businesses during this pandemic and getting bad service for my trouble. Experience was sub-par. Want to give some benefit of the doubt given the difficulties that COVID is creating but our experience was clunky with some basic issues. After a long day at the beach, we thought we’d do something quick and easy for dinner. We figured placing an order for three pizzas online would be easiest and we’d just pick it up since we were staying right down the road. Estimated wait time was 15 minutes, we placed our order online but there was no ability to pay online. Once we placed our order, we got a confirmation that it was received and would be ready in 15 minutes. We headed to the store at the suggested time from the email and I went in, completed payment, and was told it would be about ten more minutes. There were maybe 4 other parties inside waiting on their orders as well. Our wait time went well beyond the ten minutes the employees advised and wasn’t ready until 40 minutes beyond the estimates provided. The staff announced my order was ready, I went to collect and asked for two extra sides of ranch, which they tried to charge me for. I mentioned that I felt that was frustrating given my order was delayed, to which they asked I provide my receipt to show.

First time having hungry howie’s pizza. It was recommended to us. We placed an order for 4 lg. pizzas for - 14 people. Ordering on line was too difficult if you don’t have “ an account “. I finally gave up and called in my order. The man who took my order was hard to understand and insisted I pay with a cc over the phone because of the size of my order- no problem. I’m kind of a “ pizza snob”. I’m pretty picky about it, BUT this pizza was great! The one I had was the butter crust pepperoni, make sure you get the “‘73 pepperoni “ one or you’ll be disappointed if you want more than 2 pepperonis per slice. It was so good we ordered it again a few night later. I’m thinking it was the same man who took my order on the phone. But this time I didn’t have to pay over the phone. 🤷🏼‍♀️.
