Walked in, stood directly at the counter, and the woman behind the counter looked directly past me and greeted the huge party with unruly children behind me. She never looked at me. Until I spoke up and asked to order. I got my three tacos served in a plastic basket lined with paper and they were impossible to eat as they immediately broke and fell apart due to the liquid from the salsa. Used a fork to eat the pile of what were tacos and ate the soaked paper now at the bottom of the plastic basket along with the tacos. I asked the employee on the floor for a dinner plate and he looked at me with complete confusion as he couldn't understand the word "plate." They have employees that can't understand the English language or even can put "plate" and "plato" together in their head, so don't bother asking them for anything. The plastic basket they serve their tacos in is typically used for French fries or tortilla chips anywhere else in the world, not tacos that would be better served on a dinner plate.
The party behind me had six children that squealed, yelled and ran around for the entire time I tried to enjoy my dinner. Fail. They then loitered and played in front of the door as I was just trying to get out of there. Parents that let little Susie and Johnny do whatever they want instead of being trained properly to sit at a dinner table and behave properly in public. Sucked for a dining environment.
All-in-all my experience here sucked and I doubt that I'll be back. I'd like to eat my tacos without falling into a heap into a French fry basket lined in soaked paper that rips when you try to eat with a fork and am told they don't...
Read moreWe saw reviews and pictures of their nachos. We ordered a large nacho with fish (cod) added. We got their mild salsa (pico) and a mango salsa. The salsas came on the side. It was delivered to us on a large metal platter after being oven baked. We were floored with the size and presentation! So much that we tore right into it before realizing that we had not taken any pictures. But other people came up to us and were asking about it and ordered the same for themselves-but with a chicken meat base instead. One word of warning - a large nacho is way too much for two people to devour. We could only consume on half of it. So we will split a small on our next visit. The place is a basic diner type restaurant with counter service. It has an inside space with tables and a/c (great for warm afternoons. The is a partitioned area on the street-if that is your preference. We also enjoyed the frozen margaritas. We did not get to try the tacos. My wife was telling a friend that the nachos at Nini’s was the best she had ever had. Sorry, but no pictures were taken. Very close proximity to the...
Read moreUpdated review We come here very often. We love Nini's. Their barbacoa is amazing. We live just over an hour away and it's worth the trip. We always get the same thing and it's just about perfect everytime. Their green tea is delightful and if you can handle hot, get the raspberry ghost pepper sauce... On the side. 🔥🔥🔥🔥👻👻👻👻
I walked past here after eating lunch at a nearby restaurant and the aroma was amazing. So we came back for an early dinner. I had the chicken tacos and my boyfriend had the barbacoa burrito. Both were absolutely amazing.
That boyfriend is now my husband. The night we eloped just in a quiet place in Durango, we headed over to Ninis to get some food before we head out on our honeymoon to Arizona. We ordered our favorite items but had to sit out in the freezing cold in the middle of december outside, while we scoffed down our tacos. It was worth every bite. We always come to Ninis when we come into Durango. The staff are always happy and...
