Callahan's Restaurant — Restaurant in Elkhart

We had dinner at Callahan's Restaurant today because my husband wants fish and on Fridays they have an AUCEat menu I ordered a different meal but for our drinks we both had iced raspberry tea, one sweetened and one unsweetened both with lemon slices. The waitress is not attentive to my husband's food that he waited about maybe 10 minutes before his plate was refilled. We used our "patience" and still we were nice to the waitress. Then I need my drink refilled but again it took me forever to make her come to our table. When she finally came she took my glass. I didn't mind because I was thinking she would bring me another glass. When she came back she brought back my used glass with the same straw and with the same lemon slice that I squeezed that i saw on my glass.I started to get "red" because how can somebody do it to a customer especially during this time when safety is our utmost priority. I talked to the cashier and complained because I can't take it anymore. I will never drink from my used glass that was brought to the kitchen. The waitress came to our table and said " that's the way we do it here". We've been going to this place numerous times and this is our very first experience and we know she is a LIAR. If this is what she'll do to other customers, she'll surely make the Restaurant receive more complaints . Today is not my Favolous Friday because of this woman. I came in here with my mother, friend and my 3 year old daughter on Sunday after the storm took our power out. They were not busy, this was about 6pm. The hostess was very rude, no smile, no “welcome in”. Our server was a bit better, when we got our food I was not impressed, the burger tasted like it was already cooked and they just heated it up. My daughter got a pizza, and as she was eating she spit out something blue, a plastic bread tie was baked into my daughter’s pizza. When I told my server she shrugged it off, said it happens often, and to tell the front when I checkout so they could remove it from the bill. We didn’t finish our meals. I went to the front and told the hostess, in which the response was a snarky “are you serious? Okay whatever” and she removed it from the bill. All around VERY RUDE. Parents please watch what your children eat here since this “happens often” . Used to love this place, but their staff now are RUDE. As a manger of a restaurant this would NEVER be okay. Did also report to the local health department. Lucky my daughter didn’t get cut by the plastic or they’d have a big lawsuit.

Don’t eat here ! Save your money go elsewhere. Plenty of good and safe restaurants...

I should have turned around and walked back out after I walked up to the counter to put our name in. The hostess was rude and rolled her eyes at me and sighed when I asked for a table for 7. She acted like I was asking for the whole restaurant. She never said anything and walked away leaving me to wonder what she was doing….and after several minutes a manager came and said we could be seated in about 10 minutes. No problem I wasn’t expecting to be seated right away but would have been nice if hostess wasn’t so rude and had a attitude. Next we got a table and things did not go well either. Had to ask for refills, food order was not correct and fish was cold and rubbery. Ordered the all you could eat fish and was hoping the second batch would be better but waiter never came back to offer it so we never had the chance. Overpaid for nasty food plus we looked on website at the menu before leaving and fish price said $9.99 but got charged $14.99. Very disappointing that we spent half a days pay for overpriced cold food and had lousy service. WILL NEVER GO BACK. Don’t go unless you want to get charged for food you don’t get. And get lousy service. Sure wish I would not have decided to...
