Went on a Monday. Wasn't busy, to be expected. It's really dark in here. There are booths. No cushions not comfy. But they are tall so you can't see over the so they do offer privacy. Ordered a drink, bartenders selection. The drink itself was fabulous. Cost $12. Little high but worth it. It was yummy. My downside was the bartender. Not friendly. Made me feel like I was bothering her. Did not make me want to come back up to the bar. No food was available but they let you bring food in. That's cool. The drinks here are really well crafted. We ordered a Side Car and a Sazerac. I expected the absinthe rinse to be Period, but was intrigued when he said they use Redux from Golden, CO! The balance of the Sazerac was done very well. Not too much bite from the whiskey and not overpowering on the absinthe. Seasoned well with an appropriate amount of bitters. The prices were lower than the typical craft cocktail bar. $18 for two very good cocktails that would have been $25-$30 at the other places we frequent. This place is an absolute gem and has been a favorite of mine since it opened. It has something for everyone, whether you want to knock back some silver bullets, some craft beer, or a mind-blowing cocktail, all in the easygoing setting of a neighborhood bar. It's unheard of to find a place in the suburbs with this wide a selection of fine spirits AND talented bartenders who know what to do with them. The only complaint I have is that it can tend to get a little loud when it's busy, but that's hardly the fault of anyone of the staff.
