This is the perfect place if you want diabetes!!! My husband and I wanted to try this place out for my birthday due to the great TikTok videos. We drove 1 hour and 30 minutes looking forward to a great birthday brunch. We wasn’t sure what to get so our waiter Thomas helped us with them menu. I got the berry blast pancakes, eggs, and chicken sausage. My husband got the banana split French toast with eggs and bacon. We wanted to try a drink so I got the espresso martini and a mimosa with a side of beignets. We were satisfied with the drinks and beignets were good. The food came out warm, but we were there so long we didn’t complain. I was excited to try the pancakes and had high hopes for them, but the pancakes tasted plain with way too much toppings. The raspberries purée gave it a sugary taste that was overpowering and I could not stand to take another bite. My husband’s french toast were soggy and the bacon was burnt. I was disappointed in the food, but we were still hungry.
My husband got Thomas’s attention and we expressed our concern and decided we will split a chicken and waffle instead. He understood and placed the order. My husband and I felt that that it would take too long and don’t want to take the chance of returning anything else. So, I decided to catch Thomas at the register to cancel the chicken and waffles and pay for what we ate.
After waiting a while the manager- I don’t know her name, but she was pregnant. She came over to ask what happened. We expressed our concerns and told her we just want to pay for what we ate. She later comes back stating her boss said we have to pay for the chicken and waffles also - even though they were not made. She said the chicken and waffles can be packaged to-go. I told her we’ve been waiting too long and we are not paying for food that is not here at the table.
She continues to tell me how we are the first to complain so she can’t do anything about it. My husband was very upset and asked to speak to the owner. The manager said he was not there and she is in charge. I simply told her again we will pay for what we ate and she said she’ll be back. I went to the register to pay because we been there way too long and we only have two drinks a beignets. The cashier went to get the manager and she said she will remove the chicken and waffles, but don’t comeback! We made it very clear we will never comeback regardless due to her attitude and the food was not worth the time nor the money.
It looks good, but the quality is not as good as the presentation. I should’ve stayed home...
Read moreI'm genuinely disappointed I made the trip over here and waited 20 minutes to try this place. My group brought me with a very high bar and higher expectations, and we all left with heads hung low after the meal we had.
Service here is poor. I had to remind waiters multiple times for napkins and utensils, to refill our water, to take away trash that was accumulating at the table and for our check at the end. Not once did our server check on us or how the meal was either because if he did he'd have heard my thoughts on the food.
Even if this place wasn't a tier above in price compared to your typical brunch spot, it's very much obvious they don't know how to cook for all that "value". We got spicy Mac n Cheese balls which were not only unseasoned, but not a hint of spice in them either. Even without generations of melanation behind you, you would laugh at it. I filled them with hot sauce and it barely helped boost these mini balls you get as a $15 appetizer. Their equivalent of a power bowl was similarly unseasoned featuring the closest thing they could offer to the runny yolk egg I asked for: solid yolk and firm whites. Then their French Toast was a cobbled together disgrace which really made me regret spending money here, as not only did they skimp on toppings, but it was 50% fried egg and 0% cooked middles throughout. Syrup and butter could not save this mess. Finally you had their signature hot chocolate which was unmixed swiss miss coagulating at the bottom combined with a cheap syrup even Starbucks wouldn't serve for $5. I brought it home to try and recook it but the filth couldn't be washed away.
This is probably the longest Google review I've written yet and it's been some time since I tried it out so you can guess how bad my experience was. Unless you're really trying to impress someone who's deep in the southern, organic, and rustic vibes, I wouldn't go. Even then take them to the many local farmers markets we have, sample some actual local farm fresh products, and make...
