I went to Pierro’s today for lunch. I came in and told them I was alone. They wanted me to sit at the bar. Mind you, the restaurant was totally empty except for a couple and their two kids. I told them I preferred to sit at a regular table as I am not a drinker.. my waitress came over and I ordered the Bisteca Roma. My favorite dish there. I order it often. I always swap out the penne pasta for linguine. It’s never been a problem before. My waitress immediately told me I couldn’t do that. I mentioned to her that’s how I always ordered it. She then walked and got her manager, the lady who was upset that I didn’t want to sit at a bar for my meal, and the manager very LOUDLY told me that I could not swap my pasta and stated that she didn’t know where I thought I was but that the owners never allowed pasta swaps. I tried to explain to her that I usually ordered that way and she demanded to know how long ago it was that I had ordered that. I told her I had went and dined in just this past May… she then informed me that I was wrong and had never ordered this meal with li guide.. she made a HUGE deal about it. I asked couldn’t she make an exception since I had drove a long way for this particular meal but she loudly said “If I do it for you then I’ll have to do it for everybody and I’m not doing it”.. I told her I really wanted the meal and that I felt she was really going out of her way to be rude and negative about such a simple request. This woman flat out told me I was lying about ever getting the pasta swapped and that I needed to “go to Olive Garden where I could pick a pasta”…. I got up and left… this plate of food would have been $30 and I planned on leaving my waitress a very nice tip as do anywhere. This business chose to let me leave instead of just simply swapping a pasta and the way the manager acted so loudly and rude about it has weighed in my mind for the past two hours so bad that I felt compelled to write this review.. customer service is everything and so is the way you talk to people. I will never ever go back to this restaurant and not because they wouldn’t swap the pasta but because of the gross way the manager loudly acted. She definitely enjoys hearing herself talk and made sure everyone else heard her too… so, to the rude manager lady at Pierro’s who flat out called me a liar, I hope that losing $50 for the restaurant was worth your satisfaction of being in control… she was happier letting the customer leave instead of even asking the cooks if they would do it. After I left, I went to another restaurant in town with a very kind waitress and great food. Too bad this place was more worried about “being in charge” instead of merely trying to please a...
Read moreAtmosphere: Very lively, well lit and well maintained.
Cleanliness: The restaurant was very well maintained from what I saw.
The bathroom stall is really old and flimsy. It doesn't really match the contemporary style and is in desperate need of replacement or at least a fresh coat of paint.
Service: Pretty standard, not much interaction with the server truthfully. She was younger and it was a busy night so it was understandable. She took the order, brought the food and nothing more.
Food: The presentation was good overall.
Appetizer: The Caprese salad is usually the main appetizer I always get. This one didn't have any tomatoes, at all which is really a poor choice to me as it is practically a main ingredient.
The buffalito cheese was definitely very good, I can tell they really want to emphasize the "made in house" which is why the slices were so big.
The basil was sliced chiffonade on the side which makes no sense as the basil really adds that layer of freshness that compliments the entirety of the salad.
There was literally no more than five sliced peppers. That really makes zero sense due to the facet that they completely removed the tomatoes.
It definitely needed salt and pepper because the olive oil and balsamic glaze pretty much ran off of the cheese into small puddle of water.
Cheese was great, the compisition of the salad being separate with minimal ingredients and water just didn't work.
Caesar salad: A little heavy on the sauce honestly, pretty salty.
Garlic bread: Dense, should have let it proof longer.
Spaghetti and Meatballs: Pretty standard overall. Watery sauce, noodles definitely past al dente. Sauce tasted pretty close to the jar stuff which indicates to me that if it is fresh, it hasn't cooked long enough.
This could be a personal preference by the chefs because I see it a lot.
I just prefer a lighter sauce in color and Ratio and that it stick to the noodles with a hint of sweetness.
The meatballs were really dense, I didn't end up finishing it which is rare for me.
Dessert: The Tiramisu was frozen in the middle, but I still ate it because the flavor was on point. That indicates to me that it was pre made.
Overall, I think I just need to try something different. The place seems like it had a lot to offer and spaghetti and meat balls might just be one of those "safe" dishes that gets overlooked.
I would reccomend it for more of a social gathering as the atmosphere is really top notch.
Get some drinks and some more specialized items or just some pizza and I think you will have...
Read moreTHIS REVIEW IS IN REGARDS TO EVENT CATERING by Pierro’s. In short, don’t waste your money. We used them for our wedding in October, and did not get what we paid for. For the cocktail hour, we ordered the Antipasti platter (Salami, Prosciutto, and Cheeses). The Prosciutto was inedible, as it was dry as a bone. We also ordered the Shrimp Scampi Bruschetta. And instead of the servers plating it for the guests as they came through the line…they left the crustini a basket, along with the crackers for the antipasti, and simply put one piece of shrimp on the guests plates…without explaining how it was to be served. When our guests asked for another piece of shrimp, they were rudely told no. We also had the Mini Meatballs, which were actually pretty good. For dinner we had the Chicken Marsala, Braised Beef, Seasonal Veggies, Roasted Potatoes, with salad and Garlic Knots. The food was cold overall. The beef was tough as shoe leather. And they gave our guests (those who got the beef) tiny servings of 2-3 pieces. The beef is cut into small chunks, so this is really unacceptable. The Garlic Knots we’re like hockey pucks, and the potatoes and veggies were ice cold. The one good thing in our dinner was the Chicken. While it was also cold, it did taste good. I had a conversation with one of the owners about our experience, and gave him all the details listed here. After insinuating that it was my guests who were rude, and not his servers, he did apologize for our experience. But offered nothing by way of a peace offering, or good faith measure, despite our spending thousands of dollars for this event. I should also mention, in fairness, that we know this owner on a personal level. He, and my husband went to school together, and are friendly with each other…which played a part in our decision to use them. He also acknowledged this association in our conversation, which makes it doubly offensive that there was no “peace offering”. Pierro’s is one of our favorite restaurants, which is why we chose them for our wedding weekend (we also had our rehearsal dinner at the restaurant). But it will be a long time before we consider patronizing them again, in any capacity, after...
