I absolutely DO NOT recommend this place for dining or especially for the awful service. They also committed what appears to be fraud on my charge and changed the tip amount to higher than what I actually left!! Thank goodness I kept my receipt!! God knows how long they've been scamming people!!! Keep an eye out good people. Check your cc statements and always keep the receipt to any place where you leave a tip that is written. We went in there and literally waited over 1 hour for 2 dishes. If I had to do over again knowing what I know now I would have left her $0!!! Changing the tip amount on a receipt is illegal im pretty sure. I will be contacting the manager/owner about this. The name on my receipt is JAZMYN. There are plenty of restaurants in the area, especially Thai. We made the mistake of coming here. The food wasn't awful but it definitely was not good or authentic Thai food. Poor guy in the kitchen was cooking for the entire restaurant it seems. The waitress avoided eye contact the entire time because we were starting to wonder what the heck was going on. A soup and pad thai can't possibly take that long. They are severely understaffed. If you are hungry and expect to eat this is definitely NOT the place. Trust me, go check out the other restaurants in the neighborhood that are operating in a real business manner and not employing scammers. If the owner is reading this you need to take a closer look at the receipts and check...

UPDATE: I contacted the restaurant and told them what happened. I got a very quick response with an apology (NOT an excuse) and a gift card. The food for the most part was really good and I appreciate the owner taking responsibility for an off night. So, I've changed my rating to a 4 star and do plan to go back!

We arrived on a night when not many people were in the restaurant. It took a long time to get water and even longer to order drinks. When we finally were able to order food they were out of a main ingredient so we had to rethink our orders. Appetizers took over 30 minutes to arrive. My son who is 8 years old was getting very tired and scarfed down the apps and was doing his best to behave. After about 45 minutes of mostly being ignored we asked how much longer for our food? We were told it would be 10 minutes and when I said that was too long they managed to start bringing our food, one dish at a time. It took about 15 minutes for the last dish to arrive. The food was mostly good , though my son's chicken was really overlooked. One of the servers told us it took so long because they had to cook to go orders in between each in house order and they had "like 10 to go orders". I think that's lame to make in house customers wait, but at least let your seated customers know it is going to take a really long time for food if that's what you are doing.

No discount, not even a free soda....

We went here about a week ago. Service was poor. Waiter sat us and went to grab our waters and immediately asked what we wanted to eat. It had been maybe a minute since sitting down and she was annoyed that we asked her for more time. She then spent a good chunk of time sitting with her friends who were dining in the restaurant. She often would walk away as she was talking and was not at all friendly nor inviting. We had food to take home and my partner who had a lot of pad Thai left over asked for some boxes. Waitress comes back and goes “you probably need two” and still gave us one. When my partner asked for another box, she was annoyed at us again, and brought the second box she told us we would need. We observed her serving other tables who had people who weren’t as young and they definitely got better treatment. Maybe she assumed we were young and wouldn’t tip. We always tip 20% or more so it is disappointing for us to experience this. Food was good, a bit greasy and the shrimp were tough from being over cooked. I wouldn’t spend $50 here again for the level of service. But hey maybe that’s just...

Even taking into consideration that this is a college town Thai joint, certain things are just not acceptable. First, let's talk about the service. I understand that they would naturally hire college kids as servers. But at least educate them that spoons are needed to serve soup and possibly chopsticks may be helpful for noodles. It was like pulling teeth asking for each and every step. And then there's the food that took so long to come out. The kitchen seemed to be in a mess with orders flooding in, but not being able to cook at a certain pace. Now to the food. Everything is "bland". It follows the receipe but everything is just normal, almost from frozen Costco-style food. The fresh spring rolls were quite crunchy and eventful. But other than that, the chicken satay was dismal with cardboard-style chicken, the papaya salad was meh, and the pad Thai was overly sweet. Oh, and the Tom Kha soup... was just coconut milk... watered down with lime. If you're a hungry college kid who wants to just grab some Thai food, perhaps this is your spot. As a passerby of Flagstaff, can't really recommend.

I recently ate on the porch at Ewa's Thai. It was a little loud because of people around, but it was calm after the people left. The prices were a little more expensive than our normal Thai dates, but inflation. Our waitress didn't seem to know answers to our questions, and when we would ask for things, it was a while after, that we were actually given those things(a box, the receipt, a water). The restaurant was pretty empty on the Saturday evening when we went, so it just seemed like she didn't care, not an understaffing issue. The other issue I had that made me not want to eat there was that all 3 of our drink cups had weird black dots inside them. We didn't make a big deal, but asked for a refill in a new cup. She eventually brought us another cup with stuff on the outside of the cup. It seemed like a dishwasher issue, but either way, not super fun to see while eating out. I'm sure eventually we will try again at this restaurant, because we had heard good things, but it may be a while.

We ordered 5 dishes, I was happy with the portions and taste. Idk why the one reviewer complained about a cup of curry/small portions. The curry I ordered fed 5 people. This is the 3rd Thai restaurant I've tried in Flagstaff. I ordered a spice level #2 & #4 chicken pad thai, I would order #4 again and even step it up to #5 on the drunken noodles and green curry. I would think most people would like extra chicken. I would probably suggest extra veggies. Overall, I'd order again. I also like Swaddee Thai, but the portions at Ewa are better. My daughter tried Dara and said Ewa is better. I had Pato thai a few years ago and liked it, but recently I've not been as happy and would choose Ewa or Swaddee.Swaddle. picture shows curry container, everything else was eaten before I remembered to take photos
