Listen, people are making this sound like a Mecca. It's very nice, worth the visit, but nothing extraordinary for sure. A decent selection of wines by the glass. About 10 or so for red and white and a few bubbly. Prices are anywhere from $10 on up which I suppose is normal these days. Good selection of wines but an emphasis on French and Italian for sure. I was surprised that the wines are not in a vacuum sealed casing considering they only sell them by the glass to keep them fresh. Wines were room temperature which made the red ones a tad warm. The food was good but honestly nothing out of this world. The scallops of which there were three, were served on a bed of street corn which was basically just corn sauteed in butter. $32. Little pricey should have been low twenties. Same thing with the meatballs. They were very good but there were three of them and the price point should have been a lot less. You order at the bar which was fine. Waited quite a while for the peach cobbler which was just okay. Atmosphere is very cozy. My biggest complaint is the music. I don't know why all bars feel the responsibility to play music loud enough to where you have to shout to be heard. It wasn't just that. It was the selection of music. It was like a modern version of the doors which some may love but it just felt weird in a tiny space like this. All in all it was good but I've been there once and I don't need to go back...
Read moreMixed bag. Been here half a dozen times, previously, with great service. Stopped in on a quiet weeknight, for a glass of port and dessert, and had the most bizarre ordering experience. I was only ordering two desserts, and two glasses of wine, but the host/server/dj would walk away after every item, I ordered, to go get/make/pour that item, or to change the record, if needed. A bit odd, but no biggy IF they would have communicated that, instead of just turning away. Basically, I had to stand at the bar for five minutes, while waiting for everything to be prepared. Considering my wife and I were seated by the windows, this made for an awkard pause in our evening, and an awkward ordering experience.
The peach bellini was pretty pedestrian, amd a bit bitter. Red wine chocolate cake tasted stale, but texture was still good. The custard/ice cream we had was to die for (super yum), and the Kopke Tawny Port totally delivered, for a dessert wine. Grrrreat with the ice cream :)
Nice view of a little slice of downtown, if you can snag a window seat. Choose bar seating for a better bartender/patron interface, and ordering/serving experience, maybe (?!).
plz note: we've also had 5-star experiences, here, too! they can certainly shine, but this just wasnt...

In my search for a nice place to relax and drink fine wine. The wine loft fell short in hospitality. It's a shame because the place looked nice and roomy inside. It was recommended by a nice fellow who works at "Vino Loco". I wish the guy at Vino Loco was working at wine loft. He was a lot more friendly, attentive, and informative. Well, the guy that was working at wine loft seemed to be bugged about something. But, still I ordered a glass of wine. During that course of ordering wine and paying my tab. He ignored me for the most part while he chatted with this girl at the far end of the bar. He didn't ask me how I liked the wine & He didn't offer me a glass of water. So, I didn't feel welcomed and left without finishing my drink. First impressions are very important for business. Management should train this person proper. The wine loft lost a potential long time customer and a scout for other wine...
