I work at City Hall and I initially wanted to go grab pizza for lunch. I got to the place and it was plum full and no parking was available.. I drove a little further and saw Puebla Sunrise Café. I drove into the parking lot and was pleased to note that yay free parking! I parked and went inside. I have to say my expectations were not too high. As I walked inside I immediately noticed the new remodeling of space. It was quaint with blue accents that brought out the wood throughout the restaurant. I decided to order the "Special" 2 pork tacos served with rice and beans choice of red or green salsa. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. The flavor in the carnitas was rich and savory. It reminded me of my mom's cooking. She's from central Mexico. I had to compliment the chef! He was kind enough to speak with me and tell me in detail how he prepares his dishes. He was very proud to inform me everything from the salsa, breakfast biscuits as well as the aguas frescas are made from scratch. I now have a place to go grab a bite that...
Read moreIf you are looking to try something new and local, you need to they this place. I had the chilaquiles with sunny side up eggs, hashbrowns and a side of extra crispy bacon. The bacon was just the way I like it and the chilaquiles were delicious and very filling. The chef came out to greet us and make sure we were satisfied with the meal. He even posed with us for a photo. The prices are reasonable with a variety of items in the menu. We didn’t wait long for a table of 5 although it was pretty busy. The next time I visit I will choose the outside seating to take in the Flagstaff views. This place is military friendly and provide a 15% discount with ID. I was told the owners children served in the military and their photo is posted by the register. Must visit and bring your family and friends. Support...
Read moreHappy to see a new dining option in town. The space is wonderful, indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff was very accommodating for our seating preference. We were so disappointed with the food. It was tasteless. I don’t know if they are trying to dumb it down for a tourist clientele, but even the beans lacked flavor, even with a good dose of salt. We had the chilaquiles, enchiladas with mole and chicken, and the bistec. Chilaquiles were ordered with scrambled eggs, came out with fried. Chicken mole enchiladas were cloyingly sweet and tasteless, and the bistec was tough and chewy. We’ll probably try again. Surprisingly, the non traditional Hispanic options that we saw being served looked pretty good. Like the chicken fried steak...
