In writing this review, I want to clarify that it is not based on a negative experience during the show on 08/03/25. Instead, it's in response to my negative interaction with management when we were seated for the show.
I arrived at the venue at 5:00 p.m. for the 5:30 p.m. door opening time. Since my 82-year-old mother could not stand for long, I had her take a seat while I waited in line. I also asked my two 80-year-old cousins, meeting me at the venue, to wait so they wouldn't have to stand. However, the venue did not open its doors on time, and I waited in line for an hour. At 6:00 p.m., they finally let us in. I told my mother and cousins to join the line since the venue had opened. After checking in, I told the host that five people were in my party. He asked if everyone was present, and I explained that the other two were elderly and on their way. The host told me to wait until they arrived. I mentioned that my mother could not stand and wait, so the host suggested she sit at the bar. I asked if we could be seated since I had waited over an hour for good seats, but the host asked how far behind my cousins were. I explained that they were elderly and already in line. He told me to have them come to the front of the line.
After this conversation, I put down my purse and was about to get my cousins when another host approached, preparing to seat another party. I explained the situation to her, and then a man, who claimed to be the manager, approached. I told him what the first host had said, and he became aggressive and dismissive. He kept saying that this is why they do not save seats. I explained again that my cousins were elderly and I had them wait to avoid making them stand for long, since the venue was late opening the doors. My 82-year-old mother was upset by the manager's tone and aggressiveness and asked me to write this review. May it be further noted that the host who initially advised me to have my guests come to the front of the line, did not acknowledge his statement when I advised management that he should not be yelling at me, and that he needed to have a conversation with his employees. I advised him that I followed the direction to have my guests come to the front of the line.
This event was my mother and cousin's first comedy show, and the only negative part was their interaction with management. The manager's disrespect and aggressiveness were unacceptable, and he needed more practice communicating with guests. Good customer service is essential, and...
Read moreMy husband and I have been to this comedy club twice since their name/management change. We will NOT be returning. Future customers are welcome to try this place if you want to be seated like sardines at premium prices or have them steal your money if you pay for additional seats. For me, I want to be comfortable. I have a physical disability so I need extra room, and we do not want strangers breathing all over our food and drink. Speaking of which, we visited and supported this establishment when it was the Orlando Improv throughout the COVID pandemic. No more!
We would either buy a two person private table or a four person private table when it was the Orlando Improv. The first time we visited after it became The FunnyBone, the two of us purchased FOUR seats (really the same as a four person table) because we do not want to be seated with total strangers. We are more than willing to pay double the price for this luxury, and the policy is right there on the website when you purchase the tickets. You must buy FOUR seats, or you will be seated at a table with another party. The first time AFTER the management change, it was fine. They honored their policy, and there was no issue. The two of us had a four seat table to ourselves.
The second time, we were told that they must sit another couple with us since there was only two of us because the show was sold out, even though we paid for four separate - $50 seats. WHAT?! We paid for four individual seats ($50 each) to this sold out show, so our seats should be accounted for and available! They blatantly stole $100 from us! First and last time!
It was so frustrating, and the seating is so uncomfortable that we just left. We did not stay for the show at all. We DEFINITELY did not buy any food or drinks, like we would usually, so some of our money walked out the door with us. They can have the $200. It probably went to the comedians - mostly the headliner anyway. The Orlando FunnyBone will not get another penny from us.
The service was usually bad anyway because the gratuity is included automatically, so the service suffers in our experience. There is not much incentive to actually give good customer service. One time, we ordered twenty minutes before the show started but did not receive our food until the headliner came out. We tolerated the slow and poor service for too long when it was the Orlando Improv.
You all just lost two long-time customers by straight stealing...

Tonight, my group had a truly disappointing experience at your venue not because of the show itself (which was great), but because of the way we were treated by staff, particularly a dark-skinned gentleman with dreadlocks who identified himself as the "owner". 8-3-2025 6pm
We arrived around 5:00 PM, ahead of the posted 5:30 door opening and 6:30 showtime which didnt open at 5:30 but at 6pm. Yes, we stood for an hour with an 80 year old woman but couldnt stand anymore.
We were with an 80-year-old family member who cannot stand for long periods. A younger white employee near the door kindly allowed her to sit at the bar while we waited that small act of kindness did not go unnoticed and was appreciated.
We were a group of five, with two more elderly guests arriving shortly behind us in line. We asked if we could be seated together and were told by another white male employee to have the two in the back come up to the front of the line. However, when we tried to do that, the owner responded rudely, saying, “Y’all should’ve came in together,” and even commented that they “need to walk faster.”
Let’s be clear: these guests are in their 80s. That kind of dismissive, disrespectful attitude toward elderly people is unacceptable how would he feel if someone talked about his own relatives that way?
When my female cousin tried to calmly explain that our whole party was present and that the last two were simply toward the back of the line, he cut her off, insisted “This is why we don’t hold tables,” and made no effort to listen. Meanwhile, the staff member who told us to bring the others forward tried to walk back what he said and offered an excuse. Instead of accountability or empathy, we were met with arrogance.
The owner also made sure to remind us “It’s my establishment,” as if that justified the behavior. The entitlement and lack of professionalism were shocking.
Again, the show itself was enjoyable but the customer service and how we were treated were unacceptable. We won’t be returning, and that’s okay. We just hope this message is taken seriously, because no one especially elderly guests should be spoken to or treated the way we were tonight.
If doors open at 5:30, stay on schedule because some came on time and waited an hour until yall choose to let us in,...
