Empanadas are something I obsess over, so seeing this place as I was walking around downtown Ft. Lauderdale made it a must stop. All in all, I feel like my expectations were half met, and half let down. Let me explain: I tried 4 different empanadas in total- the hawaiian, the spinach and ricotta, the caprese, and guava and cheese for dessert. My mistake was trying to Hawaiian for one of the first bites, because man was that empanada out of this world! And let me also say I am NOT a believer in pineapple on pizza, I think the savory of pizza and sweet of pineapple need to stay separate, but in this empanada for some reason the little pineapple bits meshed perfectly with the ham chunks, and just wow it was fantastic. Because that one was so good, the other ones just didn’t really stand a chance. The caprese one was okay, but the ricotta and spinach I did not like at all, I felt like I was being choked by all the spinach and there wasn’t really any other flavor. And lastly, the guava and cheese empanada was pretty darn good as well. I am a huge fan of guava flavored things, and though this combo may sound odd to your typical American, trust me when I say you gotta try it at least once. Overall, I’d definitely come back and just have a bunch of the Hawaiian empanadas and a guava and cheese...
Read moreFirst of all non of the staff wore a mask which is already a sign but hubby wanted to try something authentic and different since las olas had all the same generic type foods. The staff was young and nice, we order a meat dish and ask for medium and medium rare for the meats and it came out pretty much well done. I address this matter and he was kind and said he will tell the kitchen but no one came out to do anything about it. We just sucked it up and ate the rubber like meat. Drinks were not good and we had to order a salad since the meat was so dry. The waiter said the salad was simple lettuce and tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. Came out arugula and I hate arugula. He brought out the check and never said one thing about how my food was cook or even apologized for it. If this place wasn’t on the strip they wouldn’t get any crowd. I’ve eaten at many Argentina restaurants but this one is a no no. Overpriced as well. I had to come back to add that the next morning...
Read moreWent Friday. They goofed, which would have been ok had they tried to make it right, but they were more interested in getting me out of the restaurant telling me they fix the problem by refunding my Groupon. I was lied to because of course they didn’t. All they needed to do was replace the incorrect order or give me a partial refund for he part incorrect. This was super disappointing because the Food was good. Service stinks! This is the second time I’ve received bad service. They are more focused on other customers than handling a problem they caused. Poor service! The owner clearly needs to learn how to do business in the USA. He is very friendly when things are going well, but dismissive of something goes wrong. He avoids you. Again, not my first time here. Second time for an error that I was ignored for...
