The sleigh staff was wonderful - friendly and helpful, despite the heavy snow on our ride up. The restaurant experience was a bit of a let down. There was no real urgency for seating our party, getting a server over to address our party, get water and drinks out, etc. Ditto with trying to get service back to the table to end our meal, receive the bill and pay it.
$60 for a "3 course" kids meal has to be one of the most insane things I've seen. A small plate of carrot and celery sticks and a ramekin of hummus, a small steak and fries, and a small ice cream sandwich....nothing in this line-up came close to warranting that kind of price. The mocktail was another $10.
Our group enjoyed the appetizers, however two of us ordered the lasagna and were incredibly disappointed. The spinach-bƩchamel lasagna was the consistency of a bad French onion soup - watery with a layer of cheese on top. The fennel sausage was scant. The noodles seemed to be absent. The spinach appeared to be floating in all of the liquid. I would be embarrassed to serve anything that looked and tasted like that.
Overall it was a very hit and miss experience with a very big price tag. I'm glad everyone got to experience the sleigh ride. We will not plan to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe visited this time last year and loved our experience so much that we wanted to Do it again with our kids. We drove an hour to experience it with them. It was my husbandās late birthday dinner and I made sure I put that in the reservation as a surprise for him. The waiter had no idea because she wasnāt informed by the front. Our food was terrible. I ordered a medium well steak and it was bleeding on the inside and the dish was cold. 3 other people ordered the half chicken. Colorado must grow some tiny chickens because it was more like a 1/4 of a chicken breast. Our dinner was definitely not worth $350. The kids menu was a 3 course meal for $60! They donāt even have 3 course meals for adults so why offer it for kids?? The water girl was one of the only good parts of our experience. You should also really equipped the guy on the sleigh with the proper equipment so guests could actually enjoy the ride. He was great but the ride was miserable. Maybe have some dry blankets for him to change out every couple of rides. Itās crazy how something that shouldāve been so magical turned out so awful. We will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur family had a wonderful (albeit very snowy) experience up at Allie's Cabin! The ride up and back was very cold, and like many reviewers I have to recommend that you dress warmly in winter and plan for a potentially snow-covered (wet) seat on your sleigh. However, the whole thing was totally worth it! We visited during Spring Break (third week of March) and Beaver Creek was treated to a lot of fresh snow during our stay, including the night we made the trip up the hill for dinner. Service was prompt, pleasant, personalized, and very good. There was a sommelier available and engaged, a nice touch. The Bison Bolegnese was probably my personal favorite dish, but I enjoyed the Arancini and Swordfish as well. The prefix kids menu was no doubt not a good value, but desserts and family atmosphere made up for that. Overall, it's just a good experience and so unique. I could see how it might get too busy or overwhelmed during peak season, but for an end-of-season special treat,...
