The Food – this place is under scored so ANY review that writes otherwise is just not possible and I would bet the problem is not with Coyote rather the writer. After a long weekend we eat at every fine dining option with reservations in Santa Fe, hands down this place was the best. I had the Elk and it was phenomenal, never had such a well presented and tasting dish. From drinks to appetizers to main coarse to desert it was nothing short of the best---as a foodie, who can respect fine dining for what it is, this place is way under scored for what it actually deserves!
Fine dining is in large part about the food however the experience is also worthy to make it complete. I have never heard or experienced such welcoming, accommodating and professional service. I made my reservation with the note that I was going to pop the big question and propose to my now to be wife. WOW..WOW…WOW. Prior to kneeling we watched and observed the service that all others received and it was impressive, romantic and out of this world.
We were able to get the best seat in house, not by request but by care of the manager, owner and server. We were able to have conversation with the owner…the care, attention to detail and respect for our moment was truly like a movie that never seems to happen in real life. The floor manager was so unbelievable….he is suited for the highest level of any business, this I know as a professional. After the big kneel, the cooks stopped to observe, the customers followed in acknowledgment and the Server, Manager and Owner paid such a great deal of attention it couldn't have been more picture perfect- The picture are from customers and staff!
End of story – we will be back every anniversary with the sole intent to return to Coyote Café—it’s a special place in our hearts and hope you too can find it in yours!
Sincerely - Shannon & Jeremy , see next...
Read moreOkay, so beaver creek has some great restaurants. I love ALMOST all of them, except this one. Let me start off with the drinks. We asked the waiter his recommendation for the best margarita for the money, he suggested the 22, which ended up being 30 for a 20 ounce drink with no alcohol. When there was the same drink for half the price. We ordered the queso as an app and it was the equivalent of cheese whiz. Which was also way too high priced. After reviewing the menu and struggling to complete the order with our waiter, we cancelled the order and immediately left. Our bill for 2 margaritas and queso was $92. After we received our check we looked on the board to find that there was a WAY less expensive size/price for the same drink. Later my kids decided they wanted a cheese dip which turned out to be 12 dollars. When we got the cheese dip, it tasted like cheese wiz. And the chips that came with the “cheese dip” were awful as well. When we tasted and saw how bad and expensive this restaurant was, we decided to leave. When we asked for our check, the waiter gave it to us and showed us how much it cost. We were shocked and immediately complained. Then we gave him the credit card to pay, and when he came back he gave us a receipt that showed that he had given himself a 25% tip when we had planned to give him a 0% for how he had served, no joke. Our check that was originally $70 turned into $90. We complained to the manager, who did nothing but nod his head. We left immediately, and went to a different restaurant that was MUCH better. I would definitely NOT recommend this restaurant. There are plenty others like Dusty Boot and Blue...

Kids chicken tenders came out and one of the tenders had no chicken in the middle. Sent it back and placed another order. Kids chicken quesadilla with pink chicken that tasted odd. Told the waitress who told us it was frozen chicken and precooked and this was just seasoning and did not offer to get another meal. We told the waitress our daughter did not want the meal. The waitress responded well she’s eaten most of it. (She had taken 1 bite). Asked to speak to manager. He was very rude and told us he would not take the meal off the bill. My husband informed him he would not pay for that portion. The manager said he was going to call the cops then he took off! We initially did not leave tip for waitress as she had done nothing to deserve it but felt we should give her grace so handed her $20 which she was very appreciative of and even apologized later. My husband went to the bathroom and overheard the manager discussing us with the owner. My husband stepped in to tell his side. The owner was very apologetic. Another manager then came out and was extremely nice and apologized and gave us a $50 gift card.
The only thing we ever expected was courtesy and to not pay for one of the 3 messed up kids meals. As appreciative as we are of the owner and the co-manager who gave us the gift card, we will not...
