The servers were extremely nice... however, I must be honest. The stuffed French toast was 2 huge pieces of French bread with blacken butter on it and a sloppy mess of some sort of cream and it was drowned in a gooey mess of some kind of bland berries. The side of bacon was almost black and stale. And to top it off it was cold...I'm very disappointed. I really wish it wasn't such a horrible eating experience. I didn't finish my food. I shut my mouth and paid 13.00 for the food. I'm sorry daily bread. Please up your food game or fire your cook😔 I love the atmosphere and your worker's, but the food sucked. Also, I got food poisoning.....stayed up all night.
Response to owners reply: "I couldn't find a way to respond to you. I honestly forgot to leave a tip and I feel horrible about it. I hate not tipping. But I was feeling sick, and you already had two customers complain while we were there. So I decided to just be quiet and pay and leave a review. I didn't want to cause a scene. "
Response to Owners last response: I wasn't trying to get anyone fired. Not sure why you said that either. I'm not sure why you think it's okay to personally attack me on here when all I did was leave a review. That's what reviews are for. I'm glad other people enjoy your food. I didn't. And it made my trip less enjoyable because I was sick. I didn't want to ruin the trip for my sister, I sucked it up and did what she had planned. Don't try and shame me for that. I felt sick all day and tried to enjoy myself. Lashing out because someone gave you a bad review is childish. Learn from the review. I'm not trying to be mean. And I wish things hadn't happened like they did. I wish your restaurant the best of luck. I just hope you stop the hate...
Read moreWe have been loyal patrons of Daily Bread since the mid-90s, visiting 2 to 3 weeks a year minimum, which adds up to many trips over the years. We have always enjoyed wonderful meals and attentive service. However, during our most recent visit on Monday, October 7, we experienced a troubling departure from the usual high standards.
Our server, Hannah, exhibited a dismissive attitude from the outset. At 73, I’m accustomed to certain assumptions, but when she delivered the wrong order, I politely asked for a correction. My wife, sitting across the table, witnessed her roll her eyes and display a look of disdain. Her actions were not only unprofessional but deeply disrespectful.
After this unpleasant interaction, we went to the front counter to speak with the girl at the register. While we were explaining the issue, Hannah approached and began arguing with us directly. To our astonishment, she then stated, “The owners love me,” clearly indicating she felt her behavior would be excused.
It is deeply concerning to see a staff member not only deliver poor service but also openly argue with customers and feel immune to consequences. I urge the ownership to reevaluate how their staff is representing their establishment. The long-term success of any business depends on fostering a positive experience for its patrons, not enabling employees who disregard...
Read moreIf you want the short explanation: FOOD POISONING. If you want a long explanation: If there was an option for no stars, I would have done that. My husband and I were looking forward to eating here since we had heard so many good things about it. I don't normally leave reviews, and if I do, its very positive. This is an exception but I feel it's necessary for the sake of others. We were going through Glenwood as a part of our honeymoon. We stopped in here to get some food since we had heard it was good. My husband liked what he ordered, but I wasn't a fan of how my food tasted. That's really besides the point though. The reason I'm writing this, is because I got food poisoning. Food poisoning in general is miserable but couple that with being on your honeymoon. Needless to say, I will never be going back to this restaurant. For anyone who decides to eat here, I really hope you don't end up feeling the way I did. Next time I'm in Glenwood and I want some breakfast, I'll be sure to go somewhere that takes public health seriously and is more reputable. That way I can be sure I get something that not only tastes good, but also doesn't make me sick. Thank you for reading! Hopefully I saved some other people's bellies!...
