This was our first and last time to come here. We booked a massage, the vapor cave and mineral bath. The masseuse was good as was the mineral bath. Not worth the drive, not worth all the other displeasure. The vapor cave, is just gross and creepy. Not at all as depicted online; not even close. Yes, I am aware it is a natural formation. It is NOT as depicted online.
And the front desk only excelled in making sure we wanted to pre-tip. Which I think is rude even if everything is great, which it wasn't. Clearly front desk girls expectation was for us to tip on the entire experience. We wanted to tip massage and mineral bath, performed by actual people. But unknowledgeable front desk girl couldn't even tell us the cost breakdown of each of those services. And btw, we NEVER forget to tip. And for those who might, there can be envelopes in the rooms, handed to the guest FOLLOWING the service and an amount can be specified.
We had questions before we went in and front desk girl had very few answers. Only the request to tip. That she has down. By the way, if you don't know the answer to a question, Oh, I don't know is not the answer. The answer is I'll find that out for you right away.
There was no follow-up with us following massage and we wandered around not knowing where to go next, or where the rest of our group was.
People were standing around, yet no one had any time to show us around even though we had no idea where to go. and we were clear it was our first time there. This was particularly needed before going into the creepy vapor cave. The cave which sadly is 100% self-serve including even finding where it is! We even came back to the front desk and asked if we should just go to the cave now; they said yes. WE SAID WHERE IS IT? And they literally pointed down the hall. God forbid anyone SHOW US! And when you get down to the cave it's just creepy with people sitting around just everywhere and anywhere and, you, having not been SHOWN ANYTHING feel as though you might be walking in on people. For me, I walked in on a man wrapped in a towel, squatting. We stayed in the cave 5 min and left. Yuck x 1000.
This was our first time in this spa. NEVER again.
As we left after spending $400 the unimpressive front desk didn’t even look up from her computer, acknowledge us or our leaving or was everything ok or even say thank you.
This was an awful experience, especially for what we paid for it. Maybe we are just spoiled where we come from. At our reguglar spa, there is a process, everyone has a responsibility and it is smoothly, impeccably executed. NEVER would you find yourself wandering, unable to find your group or unaware of where to go next. That said, I highly recommend Cheyenne Mountain Resort Luxury Spa in Colorado Springs. I am not affiliated in any way, just a regular customer. No creepy vapor cave but everything...
Read moreTerrible experience. I visited the resort on 06/02 with family I had not seen in years as I wanted them to have a good time and a relaxing and wholesome experience during their stay. I'd previously been here various times, and my experiences had been okay. After arriving, things were going good so far. After 4 hours on the road, the hot waters felt delightful. However, whilst sharing some moments with my family in the main pool, we were shocked by a lifeguard yelling at the guests to clear a section of the pool. Once they'd achieved their goal, two buoy lines were set in parallel on the waters while various employees gazed at that sectioned off area of the pool, and eventually, one of such employees, had to go into the waters wearing goggles and a pair of gloves while holding a pool net in hand. Various guests gazed in confusion and intrigue, just like us, while various others simply dismissed the scene. I was fortunate, or rather, unfortunate, to be one of those onlookers. My family and I were in sheer awe and disgust as we saw the lifeguard emerging out of the waters, with the net extended out. We were in disgust from seeing what was contained within such net. All onlookers were simply in disbelief from seeing various pieces of human excrement contained in the net. Feces infested water drops continued on falling to the pool waters as the lifeguard handed the net over to the rest of the staff in the surroundings of the pool. It must be said that while this incident occurred and afterward, the guests, including us, were never asked to exit the pool and every single person was still being allowed to swim among feces infested waters simply due to negligence from the pool management. Me, along with my entire family, decided to simply exit the pool promptly, try to get deeply cleaned in their subpar locker rooms, and simply go home. My 66 year old mother was feeling quite nauseous and revolted at such sight and the overall thought of having swimmed alongside human excrement. The administration did not compensate in any way, and their management of the situation was very disappointing as they just removed the buoy lines and still allowed new and current visitors, including men and women, children, and seniors innocently swim in hazardous, infected waters that, unbeknownst to them, could have given anyone any type of conceivable infection. An utterly irresponsible and negligent decision on management's behalf. The staff never gave any explanation of what was happening, it was all up to us onlookers to make the right choice. I was at least expecting an apology, but they could not even provide that. I simply expected better for having paid $500 in admission costs for my family. It was an utterly disgusting, horrid, revolting experience to me, my parents, my children, and the rest...
Read moreTHIS place is not safe! It’s very possible to hit your head and drown. They have a newer attraction with tubes down a lazy style river with a few rapid sections! THERE is NO waiver in place. Simpleton rules on the wall as you enter. It is a very dangerous ride. It’s like they are waiting for a lawsuit
They have a life guard set in the middle, the lower end and the top. They need more! As I was waiting in line a man and son flipped there tube in a slower section. They were able to drain the river fast and they walked out. I was not so lucky with my 4 year old. We flipped and luckily I was downstream and able to catch him. While lifting him up in the air the rapids took me under and I caught the entire rock bottom completely submerged. Then the next set of tubers were about to make contact and I was able to force myself up when it slowed and threw him over the chest high wall.
It wasn’t until I yelled something did they seem to notice. The area I was in, is a complete blind spot and had I knocked my head hard enough to go unconscious who knows if my son would have drowned or worse hit his head. Those life guards are not getting to you quick. They are not saving you from drowning.
The middle life guard sits up high on a platform as if to see the whole river. The middle aged lady who wasn’t in the peak physical condition is not getting down that thing and to you with any speed.
I don’t understand why they have plants and trees obstructing the path of the life guards to the victim anyways.
When I was able to lift my son over the wall and walk back it was a maze through landscaping.
They seem to be there to simply administer cpr and first aid. The life guard that was bandaging me up asked if I had a concussion and said that’s all he really cared about. As they were patching me up they told me a story in this same last weekend of a man who got a concussion and went to the hospital! Please! If you have a little one do it take them down. The raft will become uneven. You will flip with the uneven weight distribution.
Even a child who is a strong swimmer would have a problem. I had a problem myself. The other 4 year old ahead of me was not wearing a vest. They just recommend them! They do not enforce them! A helmet for kids should almost be mandatory. You wear them on the actual river?
They need more staff on the river ride. Maybe a soft mesh bottom like they have on the kids pool, and stricter rules. Sturdier floating tubes. They felt like they were going to pop! Do not take your kids down. This is a 13 plus ride and as an adult you should probably wear a vest just so when you do flip and hit your head at least you will flor down to your mouth to...
