Big Dipper Ice Cream — Restaurant in Great Falls

There was a long line which is great for the place. We need good ice cream options. We've been to the Helena shop a few times and were excited to try this location. There are 6 of us so things can get complicated but they did a pretty good job of getting everything correct and quickly. There weren't enough tables so we stood and sat over in the corner. This is where things get hairy. We had been there for at least 10 minutes when an employee approached me asking if we had paid for our kids hats. I said yes of course we did, at the Helena location when we visited last. The kid looked at me like I was lying and walked away. I stood there baffled for a minute before I decided that I was quite offended by the accusation and went to the counter and asked for a manager. Manager came out and I explained the problem and told her the hats my kids were wearing aren't even an option to buy at this location. Her response to that was they don't know what merchandise they have. They literally have 2 different hat options so that was most definitely a cop out. If I can look at your merch shelf and see what you have so can your employees. Anyway, she handed me a few free cone cards and I asked her to please make sure the employees take a look at what they have so it doesn't happen again. Just kind of sucks because we like to take our kids out for ice cream but I'm not sure we'll be back to the Great Falls location because I don't especially like being called a thief. Just went there for an end of school year treat with my kids. I am sad to say that this is our second VERY RUDE experience. The ice cream is so good so it's unfortunate that I will no longer take my kids here. The first time we were subjected to cussing in front of children and complaining about management and zero regard for the customers in front of them. This time I immediately got attitude from the girl with the long braid when I asked about sizes of scoops. I then asked for a sample which she provided and when my daughter asked for a milk shake in that flavor (peaches and cream) she said the peaches are frozen but she would try and then with a HUGE attitude said hope it doesn't break her machine. She could have said "unfortunately that flavor isn't good for shakes" but instead chose to be sarcastic. When she couldn't even scoop a peach from the peaches and cream ice cream she told me, again with an attitude, that she couldn't do it. My daughter then chose another flavor. She put the smallest scoop in and my daughter got a nice cup of flavored milk. Just honestly disappointed. No one especially a stranger paying for your products should be treated as rude as this girl treated me and...

They are so nice at Big Dipper Great Falls!!! They did let us try multiple flavors and gave us great flavor combinations. Their singles are way bigger than I was expecting (as a visitor from a large Colorado city) and their flavors are so unique, yet great. I got cotton candy on top and cardamom on the bottom - the cotton candy literally tastes like cotton candy and the cardamom is so good. We are driving home from Glacier and stopped here for a treat - because of that we needed some extra space (because the scoops were so pleasantly huge) and they were so accommodating.
