Our party of 9 ladies made an 8:15 pm reservation for dinner on 4/6/24. I had recommended Tupelo Honey in Greenville SC due to a previous wonderful experience. We arrived and was seated. Our waitress, Sophia M. took our orders and then brought out our drinks. She then brought out an order of biscuits and refilled our drinks. While talking and eating the biscuits, we noticed almost an hour had passed and we had not seen our waitress and had not received our entrees. We then asked a waitress nearby to have our waitress come to our table so we could get an update on our food. Sophia came out and asked, "did you need me"? We asked her about our entrees and she informed us that our food was ready and would be brought to our table. Other waitresses along with Sophia brought our food to the table. The food was good. One member in our party asked about ordering a dessert and Sophia informed her that the kitchen was about to close. She did not go and ask anyone in the kitchen if the dessert was available. Then we noticed that another couple adjacent to our table placed an order for a dessert and our waitress brought it to their table. We then asked for our checks and to-go boxes and bags. She brought the to-go boxes and bags. Afterwards she brought our receipts in the black holders and sat them on the end of the table and started to walk away. We asked her if she was going to hand them out according to our orders and she replied "I thought that you could do that yourselves." We asked to speak to a manager and she made a smart remark as she was walking away to get the manager. The manager, Kylan came to our table and we informed her of our encounter with the waitress and how her attitude had changed since we asked the other waitress to get her. She apologized and stated that she would talk with the waitress that night. She also said that she would give us a discount on each bill. We explained that we did not need a discount but wanted to let her know of the negative behavior and poor customer service from the waitress. She then gave us a discount. I informed her that we would not recommend this...
Read moreLooking for the perfect place to have lunch with your girls or family on the weekend this place have everything you need it was very hard to find it if you not from Greenville area it’s located behind big metal dog sculpture or if you coming from another way the Aloft hotel if you decide to park and walk there are several parking garage, which is very affordable. We only paid $4 dollars for four hours to hang out downtown after we visited the famous River street Sweets which only 2 minutes walk back to Main Street for some banana pudding ice cream our waiter was very fast and efficient shoutout to Hanna Taylor she kept my kids happy and full very familiar with the menu and what’s in each dish. She made our first experience a very very good one. You definitely need reservations for this restaurant so book ahead so you don’t have long wait just know the day you go could effect how long you wait if you just looking to try their drinks they had a full bar in the back with seats love that our favorite drink hand down was the Tupelo Honey margarita it had amazing flavors and a good quality tequila you can also order mimosas flight and our favorite one blueberry lavender it had the most flavor they sale them separately for $11.00 the price was not too bad look up the look up the menu in advance so you can price everything before you arrive. Don’t forget to tip your waitress. The staff was very welcome and friendly. The space inside wasn’t that big, but it could accommodate a few families. They also have outdoor seatings on the side of the building which this day the weather was perfect for it was not too hot. It was perfect. It is not covered. Definitely recommend 10|10 what made me give them this rating was the dish mountain bowl it’s a bowl with fry eggs on top grits cheese bacon the green salsa at the top was pack with favor it’s definitely a well balanced dish I would come back just for that can’t wait to return...
Read moreLet me preface this review with this. I have been here before and ordered the Scallop special. The only thing I remember about them is that they were the most perfectly prepared scallops I have ever eaten. Fast forward to today. Downtown for the TD Saturday Market. We were hungry for breakfast and chose Tupelo’s. The employees at the host stand were helping another guest with a reservation confirmation for later in the day. We didn’t have a reservation so we only had outside as an option. It was one of those beautiful Greenville mornings that was warm but not too warm. It took a few minutes for our server to arrive. When he did we ordered our drinks and as an appetizer we opted for the Cast iron pimento cheese dip. That came out rather fast and was perfect. Warm and cheesy with crispy tortilla chips that seemed to be dusted with cinnamon. Delicious combination. I ordered their shrimp and grits. My brunch mate ordered the Smoked salmon grit cake. His dish came with eggs and he asked for scrambled egg whites. I heard the server say, as he wrote “egg whites”. When our food arrived, clearly he didn’t receive egg whites. He received two sunny-side up eggs. He told the runner that they were supposed to be scrambled. As the runner left I said, “ you forgot to tell her egg whites”. I assumed they would look at the original order and see “egg whites”. It didn’t turn out that way. When she returned with the whole scrambled eggs, she apologized and returned with the egg whites. We finally enjoyed our meals, paid and left. As we walked out the door the two employees (from earlier) were standing at the podium and didn’t acknowledge us leaving. This may seem petty but there are steps of service from the time a guest arrived until they depart. Rant over. Food is very good here. They could probably step up...
