A Coffee Nerd’s Dream Come True
I’ve had this shop on my radar ever since I found out they had a Poursteady—a piece of gear I’ve long admired but could never justify buying for home use. Walking in, I was immediately charmed by the cherry blossom aesthetic—warm, inviting, and thoughtfully curated.
I knew right away I was here for a pour-over, and the options didn’t disappoint: a Colombian or a Kenyan. Naturally, I went with the Kenyan—my go-to region for bright, complex flavor profiles.
From there, I got to witness what every coffee aficionado hopes for: genuine passion behind the bar. The beans were weighed with precision and ground fresh while the Poursteady gracefully rinsed the filter. A great start. During the bloom, the barista (I didn’t catch his name, but it felt like a family-run place) came over to gently stir—a small detail, but one that makes a big difference in extraction. Throughout the brewing cycle, he made subtle adjustments, finishing with a precise swirl and even rinsing the paper cup before the final pour.
These are the kinds of steps you only see when someone cares about the craft.
And the payoff? A beautifully vibrant cup of Kenyan coffee—juicy, clean, and absolutely worth the trip. I rarely go out for coffee because I’m often left underwhelmed, either by taste or inconsistency. But this place has earned a spot for when I'm downtown. If you love coffee done right, this...
Read moreAs a coffee connoisseur this is the place that cares about coffee quality. I asked about their inhouse roasted coffee and the owner was upfront and honest when a batch wasn't up to his own standards and wouldn't sell it to me. The regular cappuccino was spot on, I don't like adding flavors so I can't speak to those, but the fact that on the menu it is 2$ for a pour over 12oz shows that they know what a cup is really worth while still providing good value.
The atmosphere and decor is very tasteful and fresh for the area. Greenville really needs a coffee roaster and a shop that puts quality and experience of the coffee first and foremost.
Although the food available is nowhere near someone like coffee underground, that is hardly worth deduction points from the coffee.
Looking forward to trying their inhouse roasted Ethiopian and who knows, maybe some more interesting...
Read moreThis afternoon I came in for an iced matcha and was immediately greeted by Tselia’s friendly staff. From my experience, the priority here is 100% customer before profit. I can’t say I’ve been to a coffee shop that treats the customers so well and with genuine kindness.
It wasn’t too busy when I came in, so they were pretty quick with my drink. The matcha had lovely flavor and paired well with subtle notes of honey. It was “to go” since I was on the run, though I wish I had time to sit down and enjoy my drink there— I loved the warmly lit interior and minimalist decor.
The Lo-fi music also made it an ideal spot for working/studying, so I’ll have to come back for that and to try out more of their drinks.
You’ll truly get more than what you pay for...
