Honestly, we should have known better. But the guy at the front desk recommended it because we mentioned Mex food. First, the prices are pretty high and we are used to complimentary chips n salsa. $11 for it! I do understand we were on the boardwalk with an ocean view so prices will be higher. My wife ordered a shrimp burrito. It came in 2 pieces. She had 1.5 shrimp in one half and NONE in the other half. She checked the 2nd half before eating any of it. She works in the industry so she made the waiter aware of it. He told her to leave it as it was. He eventually came back saying he was going to take it back to show the kitchen. Our waiter was nice BTW. They took 20% off JUST her burrito and never brought it back! So she got 1.5 shrimp and only half of her burrito...and they took off 20%. Seriously? After speaking directly to a manager they took off 50% (of her burrito)... which she only got 1/2 a burrito anyway. That's just ridiculous. My burrito (beef) was mostly rice. I took 4 bites before getting any meat. It was just ok. My son had a carnita bowl. He said it was just ok. We would absolutely NOT recommend or return. Of course we saw many other options as we walked further down the boardwalk. Wish we would have gone with our first gut feeling which was elsewhere. Our waiter Eli was fun and helpful. Keyla was the manager and altho I didn't meet her she handled that whole situation poorly. Total bill for 3 of us was $100 + tip. Edit** OMG! I just found out they charged a 20% "service charge" without us even seeing it. I found out by reading other reviews. So, essentially we tipped 40%????? For that? I just changed my review from 2 stars to 1 star. What a joke....
Read moreI would not be able to recommend this restaurant. My girlfriend said that the nachos were good, which I would agree that they were not bad. However canned cheese, canned jalapenos, and canned refried beans are not what I would classify as some of the better nachos. Also, I saw the mahi mahi on the menu and I thought it looked pretty good, and it sounded pretty good. But after ordering it, I would say that because the fish was frozen, just not cooked very well, it did not taste very good. And mine actually had two to three times more of the mango and corn on top of it, I'm assuming that was to hide the poor taste of the fish. I would have probably just chalked it up, except I ordered a special-made shot, the gummy ring. I let my girlfriend try and sip of it before I had it and she did not like it, and then I drink it. Not only was it not very good, but it was warm as if it had been in the microwave before they served it. When I asked for the check, it was brought. But then I said, hey I need about 2 more minutes to make a change to the wallet on my phone, can you come right back? We waited 20 minutes after that, while the servers were jumping around blowing whistles and pouring shots. We just left cash on the table and left. Extremely disappointed. This is just an overpriced tourist spot. You can get better for and drinks down the broadwalk and probably cheaper in many cases. If you come to Hollywood, Florida, it's not worth coming here. ...

From the outside, Señor Frog’s seems like a vibrant and fun spot, but once you step inside, the reality is far from inviting. Here’s why I’ll never eat there again:
The moment you sit down, good luck getting any connection on your phone. There’s no signal, and their Wi-Fi, which they push you to use, doesn’t work. As if that’s not frustrating enough, the environment is chaotic. Whistles are constantly being blown in your ear, loud music blasts from the DJ, and someone is endlessly yelling into a microphone.
The staff seems far more focused on creating a carnival-like atmosphere than providing actual service. Between all the noise, getting menus was a struggle, and basic attention to the table was nonexistent. When I finally ordered chips and queso, the queso arrived cold. Then the main dishes came out, and they were absolutely atrocious. Mexican food isn’t hard to get right, yet Señor Frog’s somehow managed to ruin it.
To make matters worse, the bill included an automatic 18% service charge for what felt like minimal effort from the staff, all on top of the expected tip. It felt like a cash grab.
In short, this place prioritizes whistles and chaos over quality food and service. Don’t waste your time or money here—there are far better...
