Steak Teppei — Restaurant in Honolulu

This new Japanese steak plate take out at the Ala Moana Center Makai food court is pretty good. If you love garlic, even better. Served up hot and fresh, you can get a filling and tasty meal here.

It isn't just steak though. There is shrimp as well. They have decent sized shrimp cooked top perfection in a buttery garlic sauce. All dishes come with sides to fill you up and balanced to go with your entre.

They also offer an assortment of dipping sauces as well to liven up your dish, but it is so flavorful already, you really don't need them. All the same, get a few sauces just to try.

Now they do use a lot of garlic and that is their thing, so if you aren't a fan of garlic or work closely with people like in sales, you might want to make sure you have some breath mints or brush your teeth...

Putting it simply, steak was a perfect medium rare and seasoned just right. The shrimp was a little disappointing, but at least it was shelled, definitely not Giovanni's so don't expect shrimp truck style shrimp. That garlic sauce though, I think it was called garlic punch? If you love garlic you'll be in love with this sauce. It was creamy, garlicky and delicious. I actually took the remainder home to find something to eat it with.

In the end, I'd probably recommend just getting the steak plate and skip the shrimp. And enjoy that garlic sauce!

Food is still REALLY good, but doesn't seem like you get a choice of side anymore. I just got salad with my plate.

Also wish the service was Abit more friendlier especially when spending $40+...

Obligatory food court visit after checking in at the families timeshare. Love thr selection at here but I'll never understand why the chick fil a line is always so long when there's sp many options haha. Wanted a plate style meal so decided to give it a go. You can see the team cooking on their little flat top and it looked like they don't cook the heck out their items so that was a plus. I ordered the steak and shrimp meal aka the #1. The shrimp were actually not overcooked amazing and the sauce was really good. Same thing for the steak nice and tender. I got the sweet sukiyaki sauce and Mac Salad. Everything was really flavorful pro tip after you sauce up your meats use your rice to absorb all the sauce on the bottom. Great first meal on this...
