Edgar's Hermano is a restaurant that I like to frequent when I'm downtown. It's located inside the Whitehall, which seems to be a pretty luxurious hotel from what I've seen of the lobby alone lol. When you walk in you're welcomed with a smiling face... even people who just want to check the score of a sports game on one of their giant flat screens is welcomed just to visit and not shunned because they may not spend money. That's how you get people to spend money...welcome them in and maybe they will decide to stay. I've been here quite a few times now and I think I may be becoming a regular because I recognize the same staff and they are starting to recognize me. The manager, Lydia, is very pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful, and does it all with a smile. I never need to really call on her though because my server, Az, takes care of me like a good server should... making sure my order is correct and that my cup is always full. The food here is amazing. The price is a little high but you're getting quality food.... this isn't a Denny's. This will constantly be my go to downtown and I will always suggest it to anyone and everyone who asks my opinion. Keep up the...

Gumbo was extremely vinegar heavy, but was pretty good. Beef shortrib was tough and chewy, and wasn't in a container you could get a knife in and cut, so your option was to attempt a huge bite and chew. Lunch special came with a dessert that amounted to slightly lemon flavored dry sandbread. We joked that maybe you're supposed to add water to it like an MRE or equivalent. Very odd. Many people in our group had to send things back or otherwise leave portions untouched due to just it being not good or other issues. Some of our group had to leave early due to order taking being delayed.
Might be a fluke, I guess, bad days happen, but the range of food...
Read moreJames is hands down one of the best bartenders I’ve ever met. Not just at Edgar Hermanos, but anywhere. He remembers your name, your friends’ names, what you drink, and probably what you were venting about last time. From the moment you sit down, it feels like catching up with a best friend who actually listens. That kind of consistency and energy is rare, and it’s the reason I became a regular almost instantly.
Martha deserves her own spotlight too. Her drinks always hit, and the margaritas she makes for me are easily some of the best I’ve had. She’s locked in every time.
And the food? Never had a bad plate. Edgar Hermanos is a true gem, and with people like James and Martha behind the bar, it’s on...
