This was definitely Plant Based Bae vibes! @localfoodstexas was so delicious! This menu isn’t fully vegan and it varies depending on the season because they only carry locally harvested veggies but it has several vegan options and the drinks were giving sis! šŸŒ±šŸ¹ I had the Mushroom Katsu Sando with a cucumber salad and homemade chips which was the meal of the day. It’s Fried Blue Oyster Mushrooms on a French Roll with Vegan Togarashi Aioli and a bunch of other delicious flavors! The Pickled Carrots set it off! It was pure perfection. @ais4autonomous had a Vegan Taco Salad. It looked sooooo good and she said it was amazing. Did I mention the Vegan Nacho Cheese for the appetizer with the homemade tortilla chips? I did NOT but you crazy if you don’t try them! šŸ‘šŸ¾ā˜ŗļø Definitely recommending to any vegan in Houston living in the area or just visiting. It was delicious and cost friendly. It didn’t hurt the pockets at all and the service was fast and great! šŸ–¤ #CocoVeganEats #LocalFoods #HoustonVeganEats #HoustonFoodPlaces #HoustonVeganFood #VeganFoodPlaces #VeganFoodReview #CocoLove #MeetTheChamps

Decided to go here for Monday lunch, and my oh my. The place was packed! Both inside and out door seatings were filled. And dude parking here was a sucha hassle. Very limited parking and nonstop traffic. Just keep an eye out and be careful. I liked how open and spacious this place was. Very modern and chill. Nice spot to take your dogs and have lunch. It’s not a table service, so don’t expect too much. You can order at the counter and they’ll hand you a number and food will be deliver at the table of your choosing. We proceeded to order, grabbed our drinks at the beverage station and sat. Food didn’t take long to arrive, probably 10 mins max. Perfect because I was hangry! Both my friend and I, we don’t really eat a lot of red meats so we opted for the gulf seafood sandwich and the salmon sandwich. Both looked great. My gulf seafood was overloaded with shrimp and crab. It was tasty but lacked a bit of salt and spice. Nothing a dab of hot sauce couldn’t fix. His salmon sandwich looked pretty good as well. The seasonal fruit was not my thing. Not a fan of grapefruits, but it looked pretty. Didn’t really finished my meal so I took the other half to go. Overall, not bad but it was a far trek to get here. Would stop by again but maybe for dinner. The lunch menu was very limited. My friend was kind of surprised it was mainly sandwiches.. haha. Yeah so for sure dinner next time!

As a first-timer here, I had no idea what to expect. I walked in and there was no one up front to greet me so I’m looking around feeling awkward. I began walking over to the bar and the bartender mouths at me to just grab a menu for counter service. Thanks sir, I appreciate it. I sit and look over the menu while I wait for a friend. My friend arrives and we talk for some time before we order.

The worker who took our order had the stalest attitude. We didn’t let it bother us, but it wasn’t very pleasant. I ordered the cashew queso without the ā€œtaco meatā€ (soy protein) and he was puzzled. He looked at me and sarcastically said, ā€œBut it’ll just be cheese.ā€ I know sir, it’s what I want! The queso was pretty good, although I have nothing to compare it to (it was my first time trying cashew-based queso). I would order it again. I also ordered a vegan brownie. It was the absolute greasiest pastry I’ve ever had. So much so that there was oil collected at the bottom of the bag! There was oil everywhere, even at the touch of the outside of the bag. From what I could taste, the brownie had a good flavor and was fluffy. I couldn’t eat more than a bite with all of the oil I had to get past. I will not be ordering another.

I may give this place another try because it has a great atmosphere and some decent...

I think the last I was here was before I had more of the food allergies than I do now. Gluten and dairy have become easier to avoid these days - I’ve had those allergies for a while - but can get by at most places and especially here. At the same time few restaurants avoid the use soybean oil or corn starch which I can’t tolerate anymore. When I found out my favorite items like their delicious house made chips and veggie spinach dip use soy and corn I was definitely feeling defeated, but SOPHIE, she was soooo kind and patient and understanding. She took the time to check what I could have and never made me feel like a burden with my sometimes laundry list of things to avoid. It can be easy to just throw in the towel on eating out but we found something I could have and it was delicious! It’s been 24 hours and I’ve not had any of the negative symptoms either that I get when I am ā€œexposedā€ or eat any of the aforementioned ingredients, and I typically feel it by now if I was going to have any issues. Anyways, long story not so short— shout out to Sophie at LF in the Heights. I know it maybe didn’t phase her or seem like a big deal but it meant a lot that someone took the time to explain and double check and provide that assurance. I will definitely be...
