Decided to go here for Monday lunch, and my oh my. The place was packed! Both inside and out door seatings were filled. And dude parking here was a sucha hassle. Very limited parking and nonstop traffic. Just keep an eye out and be careful.
I liked how open and spacious this place was. Very modern and chill. Nice spot to take your dogs and have lunch. Itâs not a table service, so donât expect too much. You can order at the counter and theyâll hand you a number and food will be deliver at the table of your choosing. We proceeded to order, grabbed our drinks at the beverage station and sat. Food didnât take long to arrive, probably 10 mins max. Perfect because I was hangry!
Both my friend and I, we donât really eat a lot of red meats so we opted for the gulf seafood sandwich and the salmon sandwich. Both looked great. My gulf seafood was overloaded with shrimp and crab. It was tasty but lacked a bit of salt and spice. Nothing a dab of hot sauce couldnât fix. His salmon sandwich looked pretty good as well. The seasonal fruit was not my thing. Not a fan of grapefruits, but it looked pretty. Didnât really finished my meal so I took the other half to go.
Overall, not bad but it was a far trek to get here. Would stop by again but maybe for dinner. The lunch menu was very limited. My friend was kind of surprised it was mainly sandwiches.. haha. Yeah so for sure...
Read moreAs a first-timer here, I had no idea what to expect. I walked in and there was no one up front to greet me so Iâm looking around feeling awkward. I began walking over to the bar and the bartender mouths at me to just grab a menu for counter service. Thanks sir, I appreciate it. I sit and look over the menu while I wait for a friend. My friend arrives and we talk for some time before we order.
The worker who took our order had the stalest attitude. We didnât let it bother us, but it wasnât very pleasant. I ordered the cashew queso without the âtaco meatâ (soy protein) and he was puzzled. He looked at me and sarcastically said, âBut itâll just be cheese.â I know sir, itâs what I want! The queso was pretty good, although I have nothing to compare it to (it was my first time trying cashew-based queso). I would order it again. I also ordered a vegan brownie. It was the absolute greasiest pastry Iâve ever had. So much so that there was oil collected at the bottom of the bag! There was oil everywhere, even at the touch of the outside of the bag. From what I could taste, the brownie had a good flavor and was fluffy. I couldnât eat more than a bite with all of the oil I had to get past. I will not be ordering another.
I may give this place another try because it has a great atmosphere and some decent...
Read moreI think the last I was here was before I had more of the food allergies than I do now. Gluten and dairy have become easier to avoid these days - Iâve had those allergies for a while - but can get by at most places and especially here. At the same time few restaurants avoid the use soybean oil or corn starch which I canât tolerate anymore. When I found out my favorite items like their delicious house made chips and veggie spinach dip use soy and corn I was definitely feeling defeated, but SOPHIE, she was soooo kind and patient and understanding. She took the time to check what I could have and never made me feel like a burden with my sometimes laundry list of things to avoid. It can be easy to just throw in the towel on eating out but we found something I could have and it was delicious! Itâs been 24 hours and Iâve not had any of the negative symptoms either that I get when I am âexposedâ or eat any of the aforementioned ingredients, and I typically feel it by now if I was going to have any issues. Anyways, long story not so shortâ shout out to Sophie at LF in the Heights. I know it maybe didnât phase her or seem like a big deal but it meant a lot that someone took the time to explain and double check and provide that assurance. I will definitely be...
