Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Hutchinson

I love Chili's, but I do not recommend this place for lunch if you are on any sort of schedule. I went here for my hour lunch and the food came out right as I was needing to leave to get back to work. I don't know if they were short handed or something, but it really didn't seem that busy despite our waitress seeming like she was a little stressed and hurried. Our table was not given silverware or napkins until our salads (which were so overdressed that they were soggy) came out and we asked for them. Then, the waitress just handed us a handful of forks and knives, way too many for what we needed. We also ordered chips and salsa and that seemed to take forever to get out to us which seemed silly because chips and salsa should be easy I would think. Half of the people got their drinks right away while the rest had to wait awhile, even though most of us just ordered water. It just seemed like everything took forever and I had to shovel my food into my mouth out of the to go container I had to ask for the second my food came out because I had to leave. The staff was inviting and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. The waitress gladly swapped the fries for Awesome Petals and they were one of the most amazing taste experiences I have ever had. The brisket was smokey, tender, all around some of the best I've had in a long time. The Jalapeno Cheddar Sasuage has an exceptional snap with each bite with or without BBQ sauce. It had a subtle smokiness that rounded out the sharp cheddar and kick of the jalepeno. It also came with street corn which for a few of thoughs who don't know what that is it's corn roasted usually on a grill or fire sprinkled with chili powder, paprika, and other spices and either served with or rolled in butter and an aoli and sprinkled with a caso fresca cheese and cilantro. It was delightful. And the dessert was absolutely fantastic chocolate lava cake with caramel, chocolate, and vanilla ice cream with a chocolate shell around it. Well, in hopes of not being disappointed, we again gave this another chance. It's nice to see that the level of care has not changed. Management still does not manage. The empty bar was filthy and not wiped off, yet we watched our bar tender in the kitchen playing with another servers hair and not wash her hands. You would think at some point, corporate would realize that patrons come here for clean, prompt service, and that if it weren't for those patrons, people would not have jobs. My husband's burger looked like a hot mess and nothing like he ordered. It's great the commercials show amazing food and friendly service, if what the consumer received is not up to par, I suggest saving the $ on the commercials. Roll the dice on people showing up based on performance. I'm willing to bet you're not willing to take the chances you ask your customers to when dining here. Bring back the Chili's standard of excellence please. Clearly the current standards aren't working.
