China King — Restaurant in Indianapolis

The WORST!!! If I could submit ZERO stars I would! I ordered “fried rice” it is yellow rice with peas and carrots, sweet and sour chicken that was little pieces of fried crispy crunchy dough, and shrimp and lobster sauce that was all horrible!The shrimp egg roll has no shrimp just cabbage. The shrimp and lobster sauce was a messy mixture of mushrooms, peas, carrots, shrimp and little mushy white substance that was supposed to be lobster “I think” but looks like what is left over floating in the water after you boil crab legs… and NO SAUCE! Disgusting! The menu does not state anything about mushrooms. I have never seen anything like this in my life and I have traveled all over. I kindly called and spoke to the manager, Demi(or something like that), nicely when I got home to explain that I can not eat this bowl of whatever this was and she was very rude! I told her I can not come back and have to get rid of this so I asked for a refund. I had to order another meal from a different restaurant and pay for delivery, tip, and fee. She was NOT ACCOMMODATING AT ALL. She did not care! This was my first and absolute LAST TIME ordering anything from China King and giving them my money. I don’t care if it is free. I'll eat here if I'm in a pinch, but I do find the food to be pretty greasy. A lot of the comments about this place, both good and bad are spot on. A summary:

The lady behind the counter can be rude at times, but never to me. She does keep a Bluetooth headset crammed in her ear all day and holds a phone conversation while taking in-store and phone orders.

The food is hit or miss. Either its really good, or tolerable. Everything is pretty greasy, which is common for Americanized Chinese food.

I did find a small black fly of some sort in the last pint of beef lo mein I bought yesterday. It was in last bite, so i don't know if I ate any bugs or not. I probably did, but didn't care. No use crying over spilled milk.

If you want non-greasy, authentic Chinese food, go to the Oriental Inn on the east side of Indy. They are the absolute best in the city for taste, portions,...

HORRIBLE DELIVERY SERVICE. Called to have Chinese food delivered to my office and gave instructions to deliver to the office suite number and was assured it would be no problem. About 30 minutes later a delivery man called and was incoherently rambling asking if i could meet him downstairs. I went downstairs and looked everywhere for him and he was nowhere to be found. Called him once again and he answered the phone by screaming "I'M OUTSIDE, COME OUTSIDE IF YOU WANT YOUR FOOD!" At this point I began to get upset so I said "You were supposed to deliver to the suite" and he says "Its too hard to find, if you want your food come outside!" In my 20+ years of ordering Chinese I've never been asked to "come outside" to get my food. If he were kind about the situation I would have obliged, but his poor attitude combined with poor service killed any chance that I will eat...
