I am obsessed with this place! I work by the city market occasionally, so would typically go there for my lunch breaks, but since they closed for renovations I started looking elsewhere for good lunch spots. I am ashamed it took me so long to discover Subito's!
It's true what people say, sandwiches always taste better when someone else makes them, and the sandwiches at Subito are excellent. Their most popular sandwich, the Revelo is definitely my favorite so far. I nearly asked for it without Jalapeños once and I'm glad I forgot because they're my favorite part of the sandwich - never too spicy either. I've also had their Cuban sandwich and personally it ranks right up there with the Revelo for me.
I must make note, however, that my favorite part of the restaurant is their rotating soup menu. I've never had the same thing twice and every single soup I've had has been excellent (I get an 8oz side of it with every sandwich). All soups for the month are listed on their website menu, so you can plan ahead.
I order ahead online, so I'm not sure the exact wait times, but every time I go in to pick up my order there is a line.
This is not a sit-down restaurant.
The staff are also all extremely friendly and quick, couldn't recommend this...
Read moreFood = Incredible. Location = Horrible. Honestly, this is some of the best soup I've ever had. Also honestly, if you aren't within walking distance, don't even try and drive here between the hours of 11 and 1. The parking situation is just horrific. Subito is on a small diagonal strip surrounded by 4 one-way streets. The only available parking is street parking, and that is always full. So you end up circling the block a few times, hoping to hit the lottery, and eventually you just have to give up. When I go with co-workers, we will drop someone off for all the orders and continue driving around, but when you are solo, you need to find a spot, and these simply don't exist during the lunch hour.
It is such a shame. I can go to any restaurant on Mass Avenue during the lunch hour and find a spot to park. But due to it's location, I rarely even try anymore with Subito. I would say less than 30% of the time I'm able to find a parking spot.
Hopefully, these guys can eventually relocate to a better spot in the city. This one-block stretch of Virginia Ave is literally the worst spot in the...

I initially found Subito during the pandemic - I'd submit large orders for my team during work. Unfortunately, I don't have the old photos so make due with what I have.
#1 the soup - this is the star of the show. For them, it's gotta be easy to make a large batch and serve it up during the day. But the hard part is making it good - and they do more than good. Flavors are great - salt, fat, acid, and heat. Textures are also great - bisques, stews, and soups all have their own texture and some people don't do this right.
#2 service - they remember people by name and they have regulars. And there is good reason for it.
#3 cost - it's very reasonable and it hasn't ballooned with inflation.
#4 salads and sandwiches - they compliment the soups. Soup + sandwich or soup + salad, winning.
The only negative - parking. What a pain to find a spot during lunch downtown. I'd stop by more often if...
