I come from Southern California. I used to live in Santa Ana, a city with more Mexican inhabitants than every city except Mexico City. I lived most of my life with access to a wide spectrum of options, from super-authentic to super-refined, to super Tex-Mex. Mexican food, when made properly, is amazeballs.
Here's the thing: There is very little Mexican food that I would even call decent in the Greater Indianapolis Area, especially on the Northeast side. Sorry, lots of places, but you ain't got it.
This place is bomb. It reminds me of some of my favorite taco places in SoCal. Not necessarily the most authentic, but delicious and very reminiscent of home for me. The al pastor was a little sweet and tangy. The carnitas was of the style with the pieces of fat in there to make the mouthfeel just fantastic.
