tl;dr - Currently I'm two for five, for my visits, for completely wrong food. Great subs, do not leave this store without triple checking your order.
Do not get me wrong, firehouse subs are by far my favorite. I think that their turkey sub is absolutely the perfect combination of the softest, freshest bread, thin sliced turkey breast, and cheese heated till it all melts. Its absolutely glorious... unless, your order isnt what you ordered or your order is incorrectly made.
First time I thought I could completely forgive, life happens. I ordered a pair of subs at work and came down to pick them up. Got back and both were made wrong, beyond repair wrong. I wrote a comment on their website but it apparently leads to the abyss because nobody cared to offer even a "sorry, sucks to suck, we'll do better next time".
Second time the Mrs goes to get subs on the way home, we connect back at the house, sit down to eat, her meatball is good but my turkey was made the exact opposite of what she told the teller. Everything she said "only" to the teller simply added extra of, with a side of salt and pepper (no idea where that came from).
Amazing subs, if they can manage to climb from a 66% success rate at delivery. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant, I will never never never leave that store without unpacking my sandwich and checking if its wrong. I would implore everyone to do at very least that level of diligence,...
Read moreThis was our first time ordering from Firehouse. We ordered two large Italian subs and a small meatball sub. I ordered using the app on my iPad and had issues with the app loading items properly and putting them into my cart. I also had problems when I wanted to order a pizza meatball sub. I selected the pizza meatball sub on the app, but what came up was a chicken parmesan meatball sub in the title.
I ordered for pickup at a particular time. The order was ready about 5 minutes later than I specified, but the staff was extremely friendly and made sure that they kept me updated on my order.
We ordered our Italian subs with garlic butter on the roll. I think if I were to reorder an Italian sub, I would not get the garlic butter on the roll. With the garlic butter and The Honey Ham, the Italian sub was a little too sweet for what my wife and I are used to when we order Italian subs from other places. We prefer a more zesty and spicy taste. The sweetness of the sub overpowered all the other flavors. Not that it was bad, just that it's not our preference. The subs were huge, and came with plenty of meat and toppings on them. They were large enough to only eat half for one meal and then save the other half for the next day. Again, the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming!
We will probably be back to try different...
Read moreI visited Firehouse Subs several times a couple of years ago and at that time I was very impressed by the flavor and quality of the ingredients. I went yesterday (a Wednesday afternoon around 5:30 pm) to the store near Belden Village mall but the experience was very different!
Though the ingredients were still very good quality, whoever was making the sandwiches messed up by drowning everything in mayonnaise.... so much mayonnaise that it coated everything in the bun in a thick layer of slick goo. With every bite the sandwich fillings slid out and had to be put back into the bun... very messy. The taste of the very nice corned beef was completely overpowered by the taste of mayonnaise. I like mayonnaise ok, but as a minor condiment, not as the main feature (and taste) of a $10 sandwich!
A very off-putting meal that I don't want to repeat. It's probably a simple training issue and a failure by management to monitor what is coming out of...
