TL:DR; Add 30 - 45 minutes to when you expect to get your food.
Let me start off with saying the food is OK. Think of your traditional assembly line fast food chains, your Chipotle, Sweet Greens, Cava, Naya, Chopt, etc. The problem is not the food. You know what you are getting in fact, if you are in the mood for quick Italian this may exceed your expectations. The namesake piada is pretty great. It's like a Chipotle burrito but filled with Italian-ish food.
The issue is the service. Visiting from out of town, I was expecting fast service like Chipotle and having driven 8+ hours I was not prepared for what I experienced. I placed an online order thinking I could avoid any potential wait, and I placed my order before the normal Saturday night dinner rush. I assumed a restaurant like this would be experienced in fulfilling online orders and could knock them out as quick as one of their competitors.
I gave the normal 5-10 minute buffer and went to pickup my food later than the noted pickup time. I had placed an order for 4 people, but the order was not unusually large; no larger than the orders being placed in-person by the patrons who were dining in. The place was adequately staffed, however when I arrived I found a slow moving line, and several customers waiting to pickup their online orders. You can see where I am going.
For a restaurant that was no busier than the frequently aforementioned competitors, I waited 50 minutes for my order to be filled - which was already 10 minutes later than my order was promised.
The only reason I did not give this establishment 1 star, is because the food was better than I expected. It may have been because I was so hungry and exhausted, but I would imagine on a good day, if I got my food on time and it was hot (or at least warm) this would have gotten 4 stars from me. Maybe if I find myself in another state (or at least another town) and I see a Piada's nearby, I will give them another shot. However for this trip to Grove City, I will be eating at one of the many other restaurants...
Read moreI was attended by Alejandro. I paid for Carbonara Pasta with Chicken and Deluxe Caesar Salad (which was supposed to be small). When I noticed that I was receiving a regular size salad I asked Alejandro for an additional dressing on the side (from 2 now asking for 3), because I didn't have him put any on the salad. I noticed he didn't add it but continued on as 2 customers came in behind me and didn't want to hold them up. I paid for my meals and purchased a lemonade. That gave Alejandro enough time to help the other customers, I checked my bag again just to make sure that I was not mistaken, and I wasn't there were 2 dressings. I sat my food down and patiently waited for him to help them then asked for my 3rd dressing that I had asked for before. He went to say he put it in there and I politely said you didn't. He told me to check again and I did and as I had said before there wasn't. He started to argue and said he did. I said sir you didn't and can I please have my dressing. He rolled his eyes slammed the ingredients together for my dressing, put the lid on it then slammed it at me. I have NEVER been so embarrassed and insulted especially being the only black customer in there. I will put a google review about this incident as well as tell others. Will never come back here again. ESPECIALLY dealing with someone like Alejandro. I called the store to speak with manager when I got to car and Alejandro answered saying he was the manager so I am writing this as well as other places. I did receive 3 calls from Piada which I saved as proof...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE!!! Firstly, piada use to be one of my favorites!! Until this incident ruined all locations for me. Went in to pick up a doordash order on 7/24/24. They handed me the cups and said to fill the drinks, but safety seal them...kinda redundant i said thats kinda disgustingand the lady at the register shrugged it off..it gets worse. They lady who handed me the cups clearly had a cold or allergy issues going on. She kept wiping her face. Yes face! mouth nose everything with the palm of her hand. She then used this hand to fill the cups up with ice. While grabbing the cups she stuck her long finger nails and fingers into the cup from the top rather than grabbing the outside of the cup near the base. AFTER RUBBING HER SNOTTY NOSE INTO HER HAND!!! After noticing this I watched the other employees. The manager, who isn't too friendly, was packing a catering order with no gloves. (The top of the food was open/exposed -like cutting a wrap in half) While packaging this order she was touching things at the register that miss sick hands had touched. The amount of cross contamination I witness in the 3 minutes of waiting for an order made me absolutely sick to my stomach. I can only imagine what they're doing when no one's watching. ...piada can afford to pay their employees enough to where they can take a sick day if needed. And As a manager how are you having a convo face to face with an employee, see her do that and have her continue working. These are the type of people that use the bathroom without...
