Some friends in our group attempted to order vegan. One asked the waitress for assistance for what the options are vegan. Waitress didn't know, so points to the kiosk on table. No vegan options, only allergy options. Good thing she looked online before they went. She ordered pasta with vegetables (peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, and zucchini). Also salad with dressing on the side and bread sticks without butter topping. The only thing the waitress got right was the salad with dressing on the side. Bread sticks came with butter topping twice. The waitress was asked about the bread sticks three to four times when she returned empty handed. Another member of the party asked our waitress if he had to pay her to bring the bread sticks. The waitress always had an excuse why. But we knew better. When the entrees arrived, the 2 vegan dishes arrived only with tomatoes, onions and peppers. Not the preference and not what she ordered. This individual asked our waitress several times what happened to her vegetables. The response from the waitress was the kitchen was backed up. After several times of her vegetables not coming, and her pasta is already cold by now, the manager came by to ask how things were. The order that was messed up was removed from our bill. The manager said the kitchen was not backed up, so the waitress outright lied to us. It turns out our waitress was new. Turns out, this restaurant has a vegan menu at the front desk. But when the waitress was asked for assistance, she didn't want to bother, didn't know, or just didn't care. Everyone else's food was okay. But knowing the 2 entrees were wrong put a damper on the whole experience. I certainly wouldn't recommend this restraunt if nothing else but the way our waitress was instructioned. Who else was not instructed properly?? Rating,...
Read moreI haven't been to Olive Garden in years as the last time I went I had seen they had gone down hill. (Smaller portions, lower quality food, less flavor etc) After all this time, I decided to give it another shot with the free delivery thing they've got going on at the moment.
There are certain aspects that you can come to expect with delivery, and I want to make it clear that the issues I had with this order had nothing to do with the fact that I had it delivered.
I ordered the shrimp alfredo and while the shrimp was plentiful, the pasta was not. For $22 I'd expect it to fill me up, yet I was still left hungry. (I weigh 120lbs and am basically a walking stick if im being honest) There was barely any sauce on said pasta, and after vigorously mixing hoping to manage to get sauce on all of the pasta, it was the absolute driest pasta I'd ever had. (More so than the "butter noodles" I remember from elementary school) The sauce i DID recieve was ridiculously bland and if it wasn't for the few specks of parmasean (or romano) cheese I saw in it, i would have just assumed they poured some plain cream on my pasta and called it a day. The bread sticks tasted stale (more so than they'd get on an 8 minute car ride) but given that the $22 part of the meal was so disappointing, I wouldnt expect the "free" addition to be mind blowing in any way.
With all that being said, it looks like I'll be taking another few-year break from olive garden, as prices have only gone up, while quality is pretty non-existent at this point.
SIDE NOTE: If you're wanting some Alfredo you're better off buying one of those microwavable Michelina meals for a dollar at the Walmart across the street. Or get about the same quality but more food for half the price at the fazoli's down the street. Pretty much...
Read moreUsually great food & great service (even when open during Covid). However our last visit was AWFUL. Sat on bar side at a table. Server/Bartender was overwelmed & needed help. She had to be Bartender, take orders in entire bar area, deliver meals, bus tables and the bar side was full. We had 2 that ordered gnocci soup & salad (all you can eat), a coffee, a lemon water and another ordered Raviolli (with salad). Salad was delicious, coffee horrible (burnt), I only ate 1 1/2 Raviolli (wasn't up to snuff as just had my Covid Booster). We asked server 3 times (politely) for a fresher coffee, gnocchi soup tasted old (gnocchi extremely tough). Never got fresher coffee, ask to take our leftovers to go including what was in salad bowl. She said yes, picked up some of the dirty dishes and placed them on top salad! She apologized and got us a nice fresh salad, soup to go and should have included leftover Raviolli order. Placed all in a nice large bag but did not credit the coffee on the bill. We felt bad as we normally are very good tippers but after his plus the other person with only one bowl of "all you can eat" not good soup, no drink for him at all, my husband deducted the $3 charge for coffee from her tip. As we talked about this and him feeling bad about deducting from tip, we got home and NO RAVIOLLI !!! All this entire meal, there were approximately 5-6 employees standing & chatting at hostess stand. On our way out, my husband paused and asked all at hostess stand why they didn't at least make some coffee for the Bar Side. One of the employees standing there said "We're Not Servers." Another standing at the hostess stand said We are Overwhelmed here.. That was our recent encounter at The...
