If you have the choice of going here or any other Sushi/Hibachi restaurant, choose the other one. I had two friends in town visiting and we wanted to get some Sushi on Sunday before they left to return home. We decided to go to the Fusion Restaurant for the Sushi and sit in the dining room area, as we did not want to sit at the Hibachi tables. Our intention was to quickly grab a nice meal together before my friends had to leave for home, unfortunately that is NOT what we experienced. We arrived at the restaurant at 1:15 PM and were quickly seated in the dining room area. We waited a few minutes before our waiter came around to let us know he would be right with us. 10 minutes later, we flagged down a lady to ask for waters and one of us ordered a beer. The waiter came back about 15 minutes later asking for our drink order, only to find out that we had already ordered them from the lady that we flagged down. He quickly left our table in an attempt to find out who had taken our drink order. When he returned, the lady returned with him approximately 5 minutes later. At that time, the lady had lost control of the drink tray and spilled water on one of us. We received 3 waters for 4 people and still hadn’t received my friend’s beer. Neither the waiter nor the lady brought out another water to replace the one that spilled on my friend, however, she did apologize obsessively. We received drinks after sitting for 15 minutes without anything and my friend finally received her beer after sitting for 20 minutes. When we needed a refill of water, the waitress removed the glass from our table and refilled at a different locate, this is definitely not something I like because they could bring back the incorrect glass to you. At this time, our waiter asked if we would like to get any starters. We informed him that we were ready to order. He stopped me in the middle of my order and stated that he was going to take another table’s order before taking ours. I stopped him and made him take ours, but this was very rude after we are waited so long for everything else. We received our soups and salads around 45 minutes after sitting down and didn’t receive our food until 2:20 PM (after an hour of sitting down). The Miso soup that my friend and I ordered did not come out remotely warm. We had a heck of time trying to order a side of noodles with the waiter. He tried to charge us $14 for a side of noodles, which normally would be $3-$4 at any other restaurant. The food otherwise was great quality and we really enjoyed it once it was received, it was just so unfortunate that the waiter was so awful and ruined our experience for this restaurant. The restaurant didn’t offer anything off our bills for the inconvenience or waiting. They provided us with two free appetizers that we did not want nor did we order or have any say of what we would have wanted. This experience was a common occurrence within our area the day (Sunday - 2/11/2018) we decided to visit the Fusion restaurant in Grove City. This was my first time in the restaurant and I will not be going back unless this is rectified. This had to be the absolute worst experience I had ever had in a...
Read moreEveryone at the table waited patiently for an hour of help showing up for our 6pm reservation - for soda and soft drinks then antics before making any of the food. The food was so tiny… I ordered a $34 combo plate and maybe had 8 or 9oz of meat in all 3 (fillet, chicken and shrimp combined) Chef noticed he messed up and gave away the bulk of the food to 2 others not in our group. He continued to cut the meat over and over to “make more pieces”: notice how tiny the pieces are because he was trying to make it look like more food by cutting it into smaller pieces. This is my wife’s entire “Fillet and chicken” meal maybe 5 oz of meat in total who needs a plate fill of rice to eat meat that’s not much bigger than a grain of rice after he cut the heck out of it trying to make it look like more- that is about as plentiful as a kids meal, several of us were shorted food in a major way. Just look at how pitiful my wife’s meal is - it was literally about a dozen tiny slices of meat . Double order of white rice and couldn’t even finish half the order of rice with such a tiny amount of food. We will never come back again. This happened to us last time when you’re the last ones served food off the grill you get screwed and leave the restaurant still hungry and pissed off. 2nd time shame on me for giving them a second chance. We spent over $300 on our tab and most of the party left angry and still hungry. My wife warned me about this from last time. I said that was isolated and wouldn’t happen again well it did and for me to take the time to post this says something— avoid at all cost and spend your hundreds of dollars on a meal on a restaurant where you won’t still be hungry...
Read moreThis place was jam packed on a Saturday evening. So service was noticeably slow. I have frequented 5 or 6 Japanese steakhouses in the Columbus area and all are compared to my favorite which is Darauma in Hilliard. Food selection is same as all others. Chicken, steak, shrimp, lobster and scallops round out the main courses. Set on the hibachi side where the cooks cook in front of you. Most places set 8 per table. We had 10 at ours. Soup was a mild tasting broth with nothing else in it. Salad was ok. Dressing tasted like watered down thousand island. Fried rice was lacking any flavor and got clumpy and cold quickly once it left the grill. Vegetables were pre cut and were lacking unless you love extra extra onions. Lobster and shrimp were very good. Nothing spectacular but nothing wrong with them. When the chef started cooking scallops he realized he was shorted a order so I had to wait. Because of that my order was cooked fast and were undercooked. Rubber and teriyaki flavor. If you ever have the option to try egg yolk sauce I’d recommended it. It’s a heart attack waiting to happen but it is awesome. Unless you order it here. By far worst out of everywhere I’ve been. Tasted like it was made from a powder with a touch of sugar. Wasn’t impressed with a sweet taste to my egg yolk sauce. If you try it somewhere else have it cooked on your scallops or shrimp. What I ate of this I ate with my rice because it was kind of bland. Unless you live in Grove city or know no better I’d skip this place and try House of Japan in Dublin or Darauma...
