I had an extremely disappointing and upsetting experience at this bar on the night of my birthday due to the conduct of the woman who runs their karaoke nights. There’s a review from about 6 months ago mentioning her using racial slurs toward patrons, and unfortunately, it seems nothing has changed. My friend and I (both Black) came in and signed up to sing a song together like everyone else. Over the next 30-60 minutes, we watched the same group of people get multiple turns — some as many as 3-4 — while no new names were called. We remained patient. Eventually, I politely asked where we were in the queue, and was told we were song #19 while they were on #15. I thanked her and waited. Four or five songs later, those same people got up again, and we still weren’t called. When I respectfully asked to verify our spot again, I was told — incorrectly — they were still on #15. When I calmly pointed out that this didn’t make sense, she became hostile and incredibly inappropriate, raising her voice at me while her daughter joined in, cursing at me as well. I calmly walked away, but the host then began loudly shouting over the microphone at the entire bar, causing an unnecessary public scene simply because I asked a reasonable question. No rational person would react this way if it were an honest mistake. Considering the fact that only white patrons were called up to sing (with a few minorities only going up when accompanied by white friends), paired with her known history of using extremely racist, offensive language, it’s very plausible that the way we were treated was racially motivated. At the very least, it was biased and discriminatory behavior. We left immediately, along with a few other patrons who were also made extremely uncomfortable by the host’s conduct, and I contacted the bar the next day, regarding the incident. I have since given them ample time to address this, and no one from management ever followed up or made a good faith effort to rectify this situation. That sends a clear message that this business condones hostile, biased, and incredibly inappropriate behavior from their staff. If you’re looking for a welcoming and enjoyable night out, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

Good hang out at the beach. We were here at night. I think it was Saturday. 4.2.22. NCAA final 4 was on. Minus one sat for the TV's. Need to update. Plus there was no loud thumping music, which was good. I like that. But how about a little audio for the game? They have a couple of quarter tables in the back with a boxing machine thing. Staff was extremely friendly and very "patient" with those that needed more attention. This place has been here for a long time and I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon. Keep it up, just get better tvs please.

Bar Mangoes in Jacksonville, Florida is a fun bar that offers a unique experience for patrons. The atmosphere is lively but not too loud, making it easy to carry on conversations with friends or meet new people. The crowd is diverse, with college kids and older folks all enjoying the bar's offerings. They've also added some arcade games to play, which has been a great touch. Overall, Bar Mangoes is a fantastic spot to grab a drink and have a good time.

Should be reported for many things, but 1 in particular. I have been going to Mango's since I moved to Jacksonville 11 years ago. I have always enjoyed it, its a divey little hole in the wall with lots of locals and people watching for sure. I was in last Saturday with a fairly large group, had a couple of drinks, (mind you I had a couple before we got there too) but was not intoxicated. We all started tabs, and were ordering drinks. My friend asked for change for the pool table from a $5 bill, and the haggard, rude, old bartender (I believe she is the owner) walked over to another person (didnt realize that was our friend too) and said "$5 in quarters he is just going to have to wait." That took about 7 minutes. I walked up and asked for a glass of water, yes, water, and was told no, that I was going to put VODKA in it. They do not serve glasses of water and I would have to purchase a bottle. I am not a cheap person. and we were in the bar spending money, so it is sheer principle that I would not buy a bottle of water. It is illegal to refuse a glass of water to a drinking patron. We bantered back and forth for a minute, and finally she caved and gave me a shot glass with water in it, no ice. I glanced at the person next to me in disbelief, and the bartender noticed, and snatched the plastic shot cup out of my hand, and said "if you're not going to be grateful you can't have it." I then asked for all of our tabs and we left. She was the rudest bartender I have ever had. It was only about 630pm and was NOT busy. I will never go back to this place, as this woman should not be allowed to even speak to people, much less run and bartend at a bar. This was the most unpleasant experience I have ever had somewhere, not to mention you cannot tell someone they can't have water. It's really unfortunate because I did enjoy going there, but from reading the other reviews, I am not the only person who has had a run-in with this lady. I don't know if this review will do anything at all, but I urge you to think twice before going to Mango's, at least if that awful...

The owner to mangos won't allow Latinos to enter his bar he instructed the racist security guard not to let me in. Even when I told them that this is the America I fought for I am ashamed to be a American people. Racism is a deceas. White people don't understand they are foreigners not native. So as a Proud Marine veteran would have to say. So do not go to mangos if your Latino or black. holly Bourgeois 14 reviews·2 photos 6 months ago I usually like it there . the last past time we went " but last night the lady security guard was very racist to my boss " and friends who took me there for my birthday "she called hm out his name and said you have 2 sec to give me your ID " she had an attitude with everybody as we entered " what shock me was the security manager who usually real cool " come out without asking what's going on" pushed and scratch my husband because he was trying to come to get me " making him upset " so they arguing now" and he push and scratch him " that's assaulting him " but i was talking with the bar manager ..because nobody wanted to stay " after ms attitude behavior I talked to the manager he said he's going to handle her "but I'm not I'm sure he didn't " I'm going to file police charges because my husband has a scratch on him & im going to go get him check at the emergency room they ruined my birthday and is so insensitive in the bar manager did nothing about the way she was being racist to Spanish and black people.... They allowed her messed up attitude to me up my day! This happened 6 months and they are still racist place...
