Last night, my wife and I visited V Pizza in Jacksonville, filled with anticipation and hope for a memorable anniversary dinner. The glowing reviews online had painted a picture of warmth, hospitality, and exceptional service—a place where guests are welcomed and cherished. Sadly, our experience was a stark departure from those expectations, leaving us with a sense of profound disappointment and sorrow. Upon entering, we were met not by a welcoming host, but by an empty entrance. Navigating our way to the counter, we placed our order and received a numbered tag, with the promise that a hostess would soon attend to us at our chosen table. We settled in, eager to celebrate our special evening. However, what followed was a series of small, yet deeply felt, oversights that cast a shadow over our celebration. When our food arrived, it was placed before us without ceremony. The table still bore the remnants of previous guests—dirty dishes and used silverware remained untouched. No fresh plates or cutlery were offered, nor did anyone inquire if we needed anything further. Throughout our meal, we were left entirely to ourselves. No one checked in to see if the food was to our liking or if we might enjoy a drink to accompany our meal. What made the experience even more disheartening was the contrast we observed around us. Other tables were attended to with care and attentiveness, their guests engaged by staff in the manner one expects from an establishment that prides itself on hospitality. The disparity was palpable, and it left us feeling invisible and unvalued. When I gently raised my concerns with the manager, her response was perfunctory and devoid of genuine empathy. There was no attempt to make amends or to reassure us that our experience was an exception rather than the norm. Instead, we were left with the unmistakable impression that our discomfort was of little consequence. As a couple of South Asian descent, we could not help but reflect on the possibility that our treatment was not merely an unfortunate oversight, but perhaps a reflection of something deeper. While I do not wish to cast aspersions or make unfounded accusations, the sense of being overlooked and unwelcome on such a meaningful occasion was profoundly painful. Our anniversary, a day meant for joy and togetherness, was marred by an experience that left us feeling diminished and disheartened. I share this not out of malice, but in the hope that V Pizza will reflect on the importance of treating every guest with dignity, respect, and the warmth that hospitality demands. No one should leave a restaurant feeling as we did—unseen, unheard, and unwelcome. I sincerely hope that sharing our story will encourage greater mindfulness and compassion, so that others may find the celebration and comfort that we so...
Read moreVisiting my birth state at Jacksonville Beach for a day trip and decided to stop in spur of the moment for a quick bite at this little pizza shop across from the beach before heading back to Tennessee. I ordered the Calzone and while waiting, the owner, Florio (not sure of the correct spelling of his name) came over and sat some bone-in wings down in front of me and said these were complimentary because he had accidentally made my Calzone wrong and was making a fresh one. I NEVER eat bone-in wings but immediately the aroma and delicious sight of these wings made my mouth water! I didn't waste any time trying them and OH. MY. GOD! These absolutely were the best tasting wings (or really any meat) that I've ever tasted! The flavor was phenomenal! I am the absolute pickiest eater on this entire planet and you could usually never even pay me any amount of money to eat bone-in wings! I called the owner over to see what the flavor of these were called and it was their "Signature V Wings". These were made from the highest quality meat (with no antibiotics, etc) and marinated in their special signature sauce. I immediately placed an order for THIRTY (30) wings to go to enjoy later! The atmosphere was very welcoming, the service was fantastic and staff were very friendly and outgoing. Their pizza and calzones come from the freshest authentic ingredients all the way from Naples, Italy! I will definitely make the 9+ hour drive ever so often to come visit this place especially...
Read moreWent there last Friday for a going away dinner for a coworker. When we arrived it wasn't too crowded as the dinner rush hadn't quite kicked in yet. (It did when we left a couple of hours later though!) We sat on the bar side of the restaurant as that is where the longer tables were to accommodate everyone that was coming. The bartender was very polite and took our order while we waited for everyone else to show up (we were a few minutes early as we live closer to the restaurant than the others). The pizza was amazing! My daughter surprisingly ate her entire kids pizza which is a feat in and of its self as she doesn't like to eat a whole lot. My husband and I split a carnivora pizza and we were both happy with it. I was hesitant at first reading it because if there's a lot of toppings on a pizza I usually end up eating only one slice before I feel full. There were just the right amount of toppings that I was able to eat at least a third of the pizza while my husband finished off the rest. We had the bruschetta as an appetizer and it was delicious! The service was amazing with our group once everyone arrived. My family will...
