I've been coming here a few times a week for the last few months...around this location is a number of corporate buildings where people filter out by the thousands from 12-1pm to find something to eat. I routinely leave my office early (~10 minutes) to beat the rush.
Often I walk past and the line snakes out the door and down the corridor -- but these people are sheeple. Slaves to the salad.
The first time you order in-person from here, particularly during the lunch rush, is an experience like no other. Someone will greet you in line and take your order, then hand you a slip of paper that you give to the next available Salad Artisan (?). From there, they'll ask if you want anything removed or substituted...after that, stand back.
In barely 30 seconds, they'll make your salad without missing a beat with all the ingredients included, running back and forth to grab whatever might be missing. Once you've recovered from their whirlwind of activity, they'll ask you about dressings and the room will start spinning again. The entire crew is pretty much the definition of a well-oiled machine.
I'll admit I was no better at first. But I found out later they have an app that lets you pre-order your food so it's ready when you get there, just go up to the dedicated shelf for pick up orders when you walk in. Pretty sure you'll also earn some rewards after spending a certain amount.
Now you'll be the one to smuggly walk past all those...
Read moreJust had my first meal at Just Salad at Newport Tower, and it was awesome. I went for a late lunch, so it was mostly empty but very clean. The staff was working like a well-oiled machine.
The food quality was top-notch. I love salads but never make them at home because they spoil, get soggy by lunch, or I just don't have the time. This salad, though, was perfect.
Danny gave me EXCELLENT service. I told her it was my first time, and she quickly and efficiently explained how things work at Just Salad. I'm a big guy (6'4" and 300 lbs), and she gave me a mini consultation to figure out what I wanted. She helped me decide super fast and kept checking in to make sure I was okay with ingredients like hemp seeds, which was cool because not everyone knows about stuff like that. Her attention to detail was great. Danny was friendly, fast, and efficient, with excellent communication skills. I wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up in corporate or owning her own franchise. Lovely person and super intelligent!
The order was prepared quickly with no issues. My only suggestion: have Danny train the rest of the staff because if everyone is like her, you’re golden!
I would definitely recommend Just Salad. I’ve already told three of my colleagues about how dope Danny was, and one of them is there now! Hehe.
Thanks for the consult, Danny! :)
Edit: I got a Protein Power...
Read moreI ordered a Tokyo Supergreens Salad, Tofu a few weeks ago because my diet is restricted to halal or vegetarian foods. When I told one of the staff members my order, she didn't understand me at all and had to ask another co-worker if he could listen to my order. It also seemed like it was her first time making this specific salad because she kept referring to a sheet of paper, so I was worried she would accidentally give me chicken instead of tofu. Due to this, as we moved further along the station, I tried to emphasize that I ordered tofu, but she didn't understand me again and started asking me about what sauce I wanted. Once she was done with my order, she checked off the entirely wrong option (Thai Chicken Crunch Salad) on the receipt. I was extremely concerned by this, so I told the staff member at the register that I actually ordered Tokyo Supergreens and how I believe I got chicken instead. She replied by saying, "You can just open it and check." As I was opening it, she took a quick glance at it and said it was tofu, so I thought I could feel reassured. However, when I took it back and started eating it, I realized the entire order was in fact, incorrect, and I got chicken instead. This was a terrible first experience at Just Salad (as well as my first time writing a review) and I don't plan to revisit any of its...
