Production line at this location is completely dysfunctional and staff were extremely rude - in fact, they are racially discriminating. This store completely defeats the purpose of placing pickup orders - they should have brought the store offline if they can't handle the volume.
I placed an online order at 9:45 am on 10/08 a Sunday morning, arrived at the store at 10:05 am, observed a couple minutes and realized not only my orders are not ready, it wasn't even in the line to be made. I reached to one of the workers, the receptionist, to get her attention, she dug up my order from a large pile of receipts and grabbed the pastry. In the meanwhile, one worker was very slowly processing a massive backlog of drink orders. The receptionist put the slip of my pastry, not drink (!), underneath a cup in the very back of the to-be-made drink line (there are about 10 of those in front). Time was roughly 10:13. Then I waited and waited, at around 10:23, the barista finally reached my order - which apparently doesn't have the correct instruction because that slip was for the pastry, not the drink. Observing her confusion, I told her what the drink I ordered and the fact that I have waited for 20 minutes for an order placed 40 minutes ago. She rolled her eyes and said "yes we have a backlog". She then made an iced version of the drink and wanted to hand that to me - which was confusing because I thought I ordered the hot one. I reached out to the receptionist to double check and she acknowledged it should have been the hot one. The rude barista was clearly bothered, made a hot one (took much longer than usual) and handed to me without an apology. By this time the clock was ticking at 10:30 - 45 minutes after i placed the order. The racial aspect of interaction come as the follow. While I was waiting, there was another white lady also waiting for her pickup orders. The workers (all three), were extremely attentive to her case, very apologetic and was trying to make up for her inconvenience by offering free pastries etc. In a direct contrast, I heard zero apologies for everything happened - actually, I would probably never get anything if...
Read moreI used to enjoy coming here--quiet, never a loud music, nice interior, and a drip coffee tastier than the Starbucks brewed alternative, altogether a classier experience than elsewhere in the area. However, on my last few visits, the drip has been disappointing, and in fact worse than anything I can get at Starbucks or at home, only more expensive.
As for the atmosphere, I've noticed more and more people who make this place look like a shelter. I donât want to be harsh, but these individuals come in, charge their devices, occupy the best tables, watch videos with the sound on, put their feet up on chairs, and just loaf around. Meanwhile, paying customers have to sit near the cold door.
The baristas seem to turn a blind eye to this, which is understandableâwhoâs going to stand up for a barista doing the right thing? The back office? The owner? Keep dreaming.
When the business neglects to maintain a pleasant environment for its paying customers, itâs only a matter of time before those customers take their...
Read moreI walked in hungry and walked out wondering where my $13 went. Stopped by Gregorys Coffee inside Newport Mall for a quick bite and a drink. I grabbed The New Yorker sandwich and one of their âenergy drinks.â The sandwich tasted fine, but it was tiny â like, palm-of-your-hand tiny â and cost around $6â7.
The drink was what really threw me off. Itâs basically soda water with caffeine syrup and an additive⌠for nearly 7 bucks. Mine was mostly ice â to the point where the lid literally popped off. Not exaggerating. I was basically drinking fizzy ice, and the liquid came from a can of soda they just pulled out, like something you can get from a vending machine. Definitely overpaid.
The seating area was okay, but nothing comfortable â hard wooden chairs and small round tables that felt more "get in and get out" than "sit and relax."
Honestly, I get that mall prices are a thing, but this felt overpriced even by those standards. Not...
