Gregory’s Coffee in Exchange Place has become one of my favorite coffee spots. I am writing this review just for the barista who attended me & helped to order exactly what I wanted ( I wish I would have asked her name). She made heart on coffee as it was coffee date with my husband❤️. The quality of their coffee is exceptional, and their commitment to sustainability is commendable. I particularly enjoyed their mocha. The cozy and inviting atmosphere of the cafe makes it a great place to relax or get some work done. If you’re a coffee enthusiast or just looking for a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee, Gregory’s Coffee in Exchange Place is definitely worth a visit.

I want to give 4 star’s because the breakfast items were good but the salted caramel cold brew tasted like it came out of the Delight Iced Coffee carton you buy at a grocery store and it was not enjoyable at all so I am leaving a 3. I honestly could barely taste any coffee in the cold brew. It was drinkable but if it was the coffee alone I would rate a 2 or 1. The New Yorker breakfast sandwich was very good and so was the chocolate croissant, the picture does not do it justice. Great atmosphere but for a coffee shop I expect better when it comes to coffee. My friend got a regular coffee and she couldn’t finish it because the taste was not right.

Perfect spot to grab your morning coffee🥐☕️! Right across the street from Newport PATH train station. Gets a little crowded from around 8am to 10am. Vegan and gluten-free breakfast options are snacks are available. Some folks work and study here but it I personally wouldn't do it. It is not that cozy and quiet. However, Gregory's at Newport is a perfect spot if you need to jump on a Zoom call or write a few emails while you are slowly sipping your coffee. October 2024 update: Smashing Pumpkin Ice Coffee is awesome!

Production line at this location is completely dysfunctional and staff were extremely rude - in fact, they are racially discriminating. This store completely defeats the purpose of placing pickup orders - they should have brought the store offline if they can't handle the volume.

I placed an online order at 9:45 am on 10/08 a Sunday morning, arrived at the store at 10:05 am, observed a couple minutes and realized not only my orders are not ready, it wasn't even in the line to be made. I reached to one of the workers, the receptionist, to get her attention, she dug up my order from a large pile of receipts and grabbed the pastry. In the meanwhile, one worker was very slowly processing a massive backlog of drink orders. The receptionist put the slip of my pastry, not drink (!), underneath a cup in the very back of the to-be-made drink line (there are about 10 of those in front). Time was roughly 10:13. Then I waited and waited, at around 10:23, the barista finally reached my order - which apparently doesn't have the correct instruction because that slip was for the pastry, not the drink. Observing her confusion, I told her what the drink I ordered and the fact that I have waited for 20 minutes for an order placed 40 minutes ago. She rolled her eyes and said "yes we have a backlog". She then made an iced version of the drink and wanted to hand that to me - which was confusing because I thought I ordered the hot one. I reached out to the receptionist to double check and she acknowledged it should have been the hot one. The rude barista was clearly bothered, made a hot one (took much longer than usual) and handed to me without an apology. By this time the clock was ticking at 10:30 - 45 minutes after i placed the order. The racial aspect of interaction come as the follow. While I was waiting, there was another white lady also waiting for her pickup orders. The workers (all three), were extremely attentive to her case, very apologetic and was trying to make up for her inconvenience by offering free pastries etc. In a direct contrast, I heard zero apologies for everything happened - actually, I would probably never get anything if...

I used to enjoy coming here--quiet, never a loud music, nice interior, and a drip coffee tastier than the Starbucks brewed alternative, altogether a classier experience than elsewhere in the area. However, on my last few visits, the drip has been disappointing, and in fact worse than anything I can get at Starbucks or at home, only more expensive.

As for the atmosphere, I've noticed more and more people who make this place look like a shelter. I don’t want to be harsh, but these individuals come in, charge their devices, occupy the best tables, watch videos with the sound on, put their feet up on chairs, and just loaf around. Meanwhile, paying customers have to sit near the cold door.

The baristas seem to turn a blind eye to this, which is understandable—who’s going to stand up for a barista doing the right thing? The back office? The owner? Keep dreaming.

When the business neglects to maintain a pleasant environment for its paying customers, it’s only a matter of time before those customers take their...

I walked in hungry and walked out wondering where my $13 went. Stopped by Gregorys Coffee inside Newport Mall for a quick bite and a drink. I grabbed The New Yorker sandwich and one of their “energy drinks.” The sandwich tasted fine, but it was tiny — like, palm-of-your-hand tiny — and cost around $6–7.

The drink was what really threw me off. It’s basically soda water with caffeine syrup and an additive… for nearly 7 bucks. Mine was mostly ice — to the point where the lid literally popped off. Not exaggerating. I was basically drinking fizzy ice, and the liquid came from a can of soda they just pulled out, like something you can get from a vending machine. Definitely overpaid.

The seating area was okay, but nothing comfortable — hard wooden chairs and small round tables that felt more "get in and get out" than "sit and relax."

Honestly, I get that mall prices are a thing, but this felt overpriced even by those standards. Not...
