Buckle up, folks, because my taste buds recently went on an exhilarating joyride at Dosa Spot in Newport, NJ! Get ready for a rollercoaster of flavors that will leave you grinning from ear to ear.
Let's kick off this flavor fiesta with the oh-so-crispy Wada Sambar. Picture this: golden-brown, crunchy goodness on the outside, and a fluffy, flavorful surprise inside. Dip it into the tangy sambar, and you've got yourself a party in your mouth! It's like a taste explosion that'll make you shout, "Encore, please!"
Hold on tight because we're about to dive into the star of the show—the Onion Rava Masala Dosa. It's like an adventure in every bite! The dosa is thin, crispy, and packed with a masala that's so flavorful, it's like a dance party on your tongue. And the addition of crispy onions? Genius! It takes this dosa to a whole new level of deliciousness. I couldn't help but do a little happy dance with every mouthful.
But wait, the excitement doesn't end there! Enter the legendary Filter Coffee, the superhero of all beverages. It's sweet, it's bold, and it's the perfect pick-me-up. Sip by sip, this divine elixir transports you to a caffeine paradise. Trust me, this coffee is so good, it should come with a warning label: "May cause addiction to flavor ecstasy!"
Now, let's talk about the lightning-fast service at Dosa Spot. These folks are like food ninjas! Quick, efficient, and they serve up perfection on a plate. The only thing I'd suggest is adding a dash of sparkle by giving the tables a quick spruce-up between customers. After all, cleanliness adds an extra sprinkle of magic to the overall experience.
If you're ready to embark on a taste adventure like no other, Dosa Spot is the place to be. It's a flavor festival that will make your taste buds dance with joy. So grab your friends, buckle up, and get ready for a deliciously wild ride at Dosa Spot in...
Read moreWe ordered Mysore Masala Dosa, Onion Rava Masala Dosa, and Sambhar Vada. All the items were delicious. The Dosas were crispy. The spice level was good (I love to eat spicy food). The sambhar was tasty too. Though I didn't like the chutney much, all the other items were enough to make my taste buds happy. Their Vadas were crunchy outside and properly cooked inside. We also tried their filter coffee. I loved it. But it is costlier than Starbucks' coffee, which irked me.
It was an expensive dine-in, and I didn't feel the services were doing any justice to the price. Firstly, it is a self-service restaurant. Secondly, they are providing food in disposable utensils.
Update 2nd trip to this restaurant - we returned empty stomach from this place. Whatever we ordered wasn't available to order, and it was only 6:30 PM.
3rd trip Again we returned without any food from this restaurant. This time we waited 15 mins in line and when we reached to the counter they said it is only pick-up order now as restaurant is closing, and guess what was the time - 8:30 PM?? Also, when we asked them to clean the tables they gave us tissue papers and asked us to clean it ourselves.
Overall, a good food but worst service. I swear I will never visit this place. For food I can give 3.5 but for service...
Read moreTERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. AVOID AVOID AVOID. horrible quality food and the non-dosa foods are inedible.
all the food came out so slow. half of the group was finished while other half didn't even start (which wasn't an issue because nobody even finished a single plate). the owner is rude and does not care about the customers at all. we will NEVER be returning and if you are reading this review, stop...
...take a deep breath.
ignore any positive reviews. they are mostly people they have either paid or offered something for a positive review.
i know you are hungry and this place sounds like it might be good. but do yourself and your wallet a favor: do a new google search. there are ENDLESS better options all over jersey city and new york.
this business will not survive much longer; the only reason they haven't closed shop is because customers have to sell their kidneys to afford just two "dosas" (in quotes because what they serve doesn't even deserve to be called a dosa).
i cannot stress this enough: GO...
