Nicole's Caribbean Restaurant — Restaurant in Jersey City

I ordered my food for pick up right before closing and it was fresh and full of flavor. Coming from NY to NJ I've found it hard to find a good Caribbean place to eat. they have my business for life! thank you guys for putting your heart in your food. it was amazingly delicious.

Updated 9-11-24 My aunt recently passed away and I needed a few side dishes for her celebration of life event. I placed the order on Tuesday for Saturday. On Wednesday I got a call regarding my order. He asked when did I need it for. I told him I needed it Friday evening so I could have it for Saturday morning. Services would be held in NY and I had to leave Jersey by 8am. He said I'll make it fresh and you'll have it Saturday morning by 8am. This man called me around 7:30 to tell me my order was ready. I burst out in tears. I was so overwhelmed with joy and appreciation that someone would get out their bed so early and have it done ahead of time on a Saturday. Not only is their food good but their customer service, and empathy for others clearly go above what most would do....

The organization I'm a part of used to order delivery from this place all the time pre-COVID. This time around when we called days in advance, different employees were telling us different things about if they deliver, what time they close, and if they can have enough patties for us for our event. Finally they said they didn't deliver a 13 minute ride because "they didn't want to deal with traffic". So we took the train to the restaurant to pick up our order that they said they didn't even put in! They also said that they did not have a callback number to dial, which is supposed to be the first thing they ask when someone's ordering catering. They said they didn't have ANY patties and closed the door on us and the lights at around 7:30!! We even called on multiple occasions to verify our order and any of those times a number could have been recorded. Very unprofessional. We won't be ordering from...

I love food and post alot of reviews, check my rap sheet. Giving 3 stars based solely on the beef patties

Service: Ehhh, sweating man hovering over food, red flag.

Food: Okay, beef patties are on point but curry goat is ALL bones for $16+ dollars... didn't want rice with my entrée, so I opted for cabbage and goat meat. Womp womp

(Sidebar: The Jerk Pork looked good, Jerk Chicken looked like it was drenched in flavorless oil)

Atmosphere: Doesn't matter when I'm hungry or starving. I'll eat in a mop closet if necessary. Parking is a nightmare. Order online...

Overall: It's decent but the layout of the store should be reconsidered, definitely don't like a sweaty person hovering over food, just saying.

Might be more sanitary to go here in the winter months or just order online to avoid feeling bourgeois while your food is being...
