The pictures on this page were very deceiving, judging by the pictures and the reviews we thought it would be a good meal, but we were misled. We arrived at 1 pm for lunch Saturday and were told that they don't do lunch on the weekend and to look at the dinner options. They were the same items as lunch, just more money. All they really had to choose from that's not sushi was Hibachi, Teriyaki and Red Curry. We ordered one Red Curry, one Shrimp Teriyaki and one Chicken Teriyaki. The Red Curry came with no appetizers but the other two did so one person could not eat, all it was anyway was Chicken Broth in a bowl which tasted like powdered bouillon, no meat or anything in it, just broth. Also a very small salad, just iceberg lettuce and one cucumber slice with what appeared to be mayonnaise and ketchup mixed together with a touch of sesame oil. Then came the entrees: The Chicken and Shrimp were served on raw onion strips, nothing else on the plate except two broccoli florets and two little strips of carrot. I would say the chicken was about 6 oz cut into strips with what appeared to be kikkoman bottled teriyaki sauce thickened with corn starch poured on it. The shrimp was the same exact way, 7 shrimp with bottled sauce poured on it on top of raw onion with the broccoli and carrot. They did come with what was about 6 oz white rice in a side dish. Neither of us ate the onion and only I ate the rice, even if we ate the onion it was a very small portion of food for 19 dollars. Just basic meat with sauce is all it was. The Red Curry dish had way too many snow peas in it, in fact it's about all it was and the sauce was too loose. The biggest problem though was that with all those snow peas basically being the only thing they put in the dish, they never took the time to pull out the stringy membrane strands on the back of the snow peas. So it was a very unpalatable mess with strands that looked like blonde hair poking all out of the sauce, the person eating it initially found it shocking until I assured them it was only that they never removed the stringy strands from the snow peas. They thought it was hair in their food and then they lost their appetite and did not finish the dish. So the three of us hardly ate anything to be charged over 60 dollars. Professional cooks should have known about the unpalatable risks of using snow peas if not prepared properly and to have nothing but raw onions on a hot plate of food. At the very least they should have been sauteed but even then, no one wants to eat just onions, there should have been a variety of vegetables in it. All in all, it was just very poorly executed and we obviously have no...

Response to my REVIEW tells the story here. I been here literally 26 times. I looked at my credit card statement to see. So we were the reason we got our soup and salad after our meal. We are the reason the bartender couldnât make a drink. We are the reason we couldnât get an extra plate. We are the reason we got poor service. If we are the reason it must of been the way we looked. So be clear that customers are the reason. Customers get treated based on how they look.
Let me start off by saying the food is amazing! Portions are great. Sushi is excellent. Very fresh ingredients. Also the Asian owner will step in and bring food out. Probably the only reason this place stay afloat.
The place is always packed. Everyone is always having a great time! Loud but fun loud.
The bar is run by the second owner. Beyond not being able to make a kamikaze. Which is about as hard as making a screw driver. The guy wanted to be funny when we were in there. Not like I havenât been in the 10 plus times. At the end of our stay there. All I hear him yelling out is problem with table 1 credit card. Had to look at the receipt. Funny I was table 1. Again this is how the OWNER reacted me sending a drink back. Mad because he couldnât make a kamikaze. Not a gastro pub. Maybe next time I go in Iâll make sure to tell out that he cannot make drinks. Since we are going to go back to the third grade.
Now the wait staff. I probably had the worst server I ever had. Her name is kiley. Would not talk to me. Kept addressing other people at the table or ignoring the table. The absolutely rude behavior that this woman had towards the table was insane. It was almost as she did not want to be bothered by us. Very dismissive and absent. This is not the normal when I go to this place. Rob is excellent and engaging. Girl with the dreads is pretty cool. So yeah I have been hear many times and in my honest opinion this waitress needs to be let go.
3 people, appetizers, meals, and 3 drinks came out to about $100. Very average pricing for above average food. Great food just...
Read moreMy experience here a few short weekends ago was hit and miss.
First and foremost, our server Kiley went out of her way multiple times to make sure we were taken care of, but not to the point of being overbearing. Very friendly and very professional.
This gastropub is very bright despite the black painted walls. The wood accents give the place a warmer vibe. When busy, it is very loud, which can make conversation impossible if you're soft spoken. The overall vibe of the place is just right, save for the tacky LED strip around the main doorway and a plastic shelving unit next to the door to the outside dining area.
The sushi and sashimi were well prepared and plated and my request for more pickled ginger was met without any hesitation.
The issue I had was with the noodle dish I received. After having worked in a restaurant for some time, I learned very early on how a dirty surface can transfer a bad flavor to the food. I believe the grill and/or pan my noodles were fried on/in had gotten very dirty and that the cook did not have enough time to splash some water on the hot surface and wipe it down with a rag. It was a particularly busy weekend so it may have been the result of trying to finish tickets quickly.
The mochi ice cream I received was honestly the worst I have ever had. The mochi was dry, crumbly, and tasted very off. Whether it is made in-house or brought in it is kept for far too long to the point that the rice flour becomes extremely brittle and dry. I suspect that they are bought, so my advice for the purchaser is that it would be better to order smaller quantities of these desserts more frequently, and to just inform patrons when stock runs out to avoid quality degradation.
I believe I'll be back when I'm in the area for hope of a more consistent...
