Chartreuse Saloon — Restaurant in Kansas City

This place is in downtown Kansas City and is kinda hard to find unless you know where you are going. As for someone driving around looking for a place like this, its kind of hard to find. There are 3 pro/am pool tables there which are free to use when patronizing this "bar" and I use the term bar lightly. I wanted a very common beer, a Budwieser but they did not have any popular brand beers there at all. So I ordered a Jack and coke, the barmaid smiled and proceeded to make my drink. 1. A giant glass of ice, 2. 1 shy shot of I think was Jack Daniel's, 3. Added a syrup of which I can only describe as 🤮. Not to mention no coke at all. Its a Jack and Coke! Really? Anyway, I was presented with some drink that looked like mountain dew i can only wish it at least tasted like a mountain dew. So in my opinion, not a place for drinks. Nachos? Build your own! Vegan? HELL YEAH they've got you covered with their in-house cheeze sauce (potato based, afaik) and plenty of toppings!

Hot dogs? Fo' sho! VEGAN HOT DOGS!? You know it! Build your own veggie dog! Put some vegan cheeze on it! LYBL (Live Your Best Life)

All in all this place is dope. I'll be back soon and look forward to seeing you there!

Chartreuse is one of my favorite bars in town, operated by one of the finest owners I've ever met (been in the business for a long time). The food is phenomenal, especially the nachos--everything is so fresh and crisp. The beer and spirits selection rocks. The pool tables are extremely well maintained and cherished, and if you grew up playing pool like I did you might know how rare that is.

Chartreuse has had tons of love poured into it and it absolutely shows. The regulars are all fantastic. The music is good, especially the live acts that play there. Everyone who works there is an absolute gem. Just a wonderful place, well worth your patronage and always fun. I'm not sure if google would take this review down if I mention the owner's other business but ask about it--that one IS my favorite...
