Drum Room — Restaurant in Kansas City

My Manhattan was sublime but it could have been a better currant cherry. The problem was the male bartender. I was the only woman sitting at the bar, and I was a guest at the hotel, staying for business purposes, when he looked at me, asked me how I was and then turned to a man and asked him what he wanted to drink. It was very odd and uncomfortable but it did help that the man also asked him, “Don’t you think you should wait on the lady first?” I looked at the patron and said “Thank you”, but shouldn’t this be normal etiquette??? Call me crazy. I found that hard to deal with but the rest of the staff were amazing throughout the hotel. We were surprised at how good the happy hour food was here. Portions were smaller than average for the sides, but the food was great. Great burger, fried feta, fried potatoes, and wings (splitting all these between two people was still plenty). If they added their $12 cocktails to happy hour pricing then I'd suggest going out of your way to try this place out, but otherwise if you end up dropping in then you're still going to get good food & drinks. We were in town for a convention and needed a place for a “drop in” happy hour. The Drum Room was perfect for our small group. A couple of days before our event, we popped in for some reconnaissance. Dylan, the server, answered our questions and helped us make a plan for food. We had dinner that night and the entrees were great! The day of our happy hour, Adam the bartender was patient, friendly, and accommodating. The drinks were great, the food was very good , and all of it was reasonably priced.
