My wife and I went to the small shop they had before several times and loved it every time.
We finally had the opportunity to visit the new location and were completely disappointed.
We arrived at open— food should be piping hot, fresh as can be, or so we thought.
We ordered the loaded Philly fries and the chicken n waffle combo.
The meat on the fries was actually cold to the touch, the fries were luke warm. And we got half the toppings that we were accustomed to at the previous location, for the same price.
The waffle was super chewy, and basically room temp (the taste was okay; not as good as the ones we had when they were in their small location), the tenders were the hottest thing between the plates and even they weren’t that hot. We ordered lemon pepper flavor— I’d have expected the chicken to be tossed in the seasoning and fully coated, but what we got was a small sprinkle across the top that we couldn’t even taste. I had to scrape what little was on the plate up to even taste it— which had they been seasoned appropriately, would have been fire.
The small location set such high expectations, maybe our bar was too high— but also feel like quality should not dip so much. Holy Brunch went from being our favorite spot, to being a place I’m unlikely to ever return to.
I try to be understanding, but being there right at open and that’s what we get, doesn’t set high hopes for a visit again at any other time of day.
Prices were fair for the quality we got before, but if today is an indication of the quality moving forward— severely overpriced for mediocre at best food and...
Read moreWalked in hoping for a traditional brunch spot with a very limited menu. Extravigant for sure and offering brunch until 9pm is nice.
Oh and no water at the table option so if you want a water buy one out of their limited beverage fridge.
Dont come here if your looking for a traditional breakfast, they dont have coffee or hot tea. And their only beverage options are bottled soda. No orange juice they do have sunny D in a bottle for those who like it.
They do have a dine in option, plastic wear and to go containers. Feels like a fast food resteraunt.
Their prices were also a bit higher then 90% of all brunch spots in KC i asked for a side of eggs and they offered me cheesy eggs. So im guessing a pre mix egg no hopes for sunny side up or over easy.
Onto the taste
The eggs were super salty like drenched in salt. A 1 out of 10.
The cinnomon toast crunch french toast were below par the vanilla sauce was ok but loaded with hard candy sprikles which look pretty but dont help the tast. The cereal is to hard for the plasticwear i went through two forks. 2 out of 10
Had the chicken and waffles as well. The bone in wings were breaded and unexpected. A 2 out of 10.
The waffles were undercooked and doughey. 1 out of 10.
Overall i would not visit them again. And give the spot out 1 out of 10 or 1 out of 5 stars.
Update: we left without even finishing our meals and both got stomach...
Read moreI had high hopes for this place as I had seen a few reviews on how good it was. It was not. Upon walking in there was no one at the hostess station and the bartender yelled across the restaurant for us to seat ourselves. After we sat down our waitress Nichole came over and asked us if we got menus, which we did not because we didn't know we were supposed to get them from the hostess stand ourselves. The only good things about this place was our waitress and the music they were playing. After ordering our food it took 35 minutes for us to get it. The fries were cold and the burgers were burnt. My daughter could not even eat it. She took 3 bites and said it tasted so bad that she lost her appetite. We ordered the "smash burgers'" which were not smash burgers by any means. They were definitely frozen and not fresh. For what we got it was way over priced. The waitress discounted my daughters meal, but it was still over $40 with drinks. I asked for a receipt and after paying and leaving the restaurant the receipt said $39 and some change, not what the waitress told me. Don't waste your time or money, there are much better places around Westport to...
