Oak & Steel is a great venue with a relaxed atmosphere. The owner, Kyle, was gracious enough to host our graduation after party June 18th and it was fantastic. It was an easy walk after our dinner at the Kauffman center. The combination of indoor and outdoor seating options was fortunate given the heat. In addition to an exhaustive selection of high end whiskey and a diverse curated beer list with plenty of IPA and sour beers to keep everyone happy, Kyle was very helpful in making sure we had options for cocktails even though he does not typically serve them. The team at Oak & Steel worked tirelessly to keep our group happy with drinks in hand all evening (I estimate we had around 75 people during the course of 3 hours). Read moreOak & Steel is hands-down one of the best spots in Kansas City if you're into craft beer, fine whiskey, or just want a chill place to enjoy a quality drink. The selection here is incredible—rotating taps with some rare finds and knowledgeable staff who are clearly passionate about what they do.
The vibe is relaxed and welcoming. Whether you're stopping in solo, meeting up with friends, or out for a low-key date night, it's the kind of place where you can actually have a conversation and savor your drink.
Even though they don't serve food, they’re totally cool with you bringing your own or ordering from nearby, which adds to the laid-back charm.
If you appreciate expertly poured drinks, a great atmosphere, and staff who make you feel like a regular even on your first visit, Oak & Steel should be at the top...

I had already been drinking beer that day and didn't want to switch so I plan to go in another time to better experience it. They have a lot of seating outside, which is under the parking garage so it's a good place for a really hot or rainy day but when you still want to sit outside. I love the design on the inside, it's very comfortable in there. They are doing a good job of managing COVID safety. The entrance is not accessible per se, but there is an accessible entrance around the back if you call them while you're just outside or make prior arrangements. Restrooms...
