Edited review:
First I couldn’t say much about this place because waiting was so intense. But go get something here !
First I cannot tell, because waiting +25minutes for only ordering a coffee played to much on my patience and I left to move on (on Saturday morning before 9AM).
No shade and very slow processing of the orders. The queue though was not long.
No info, no interaction, no waiting displayed… I did not appreciate this.
For this I recommend the owner to work on a solution or for the customers to skip and go along since there is plenty of other coffee places down the road.
So far all over I do not recommend except if you have plenty of time to kill. Good luck.
Edit of another visit three days later :
First of : thank you for your reply. I think it’s important to be aware of what is going wrong from the customers point of view, in order to improve the business running. This comment is not intend to be ‘roasting’ or whatsoever.
So, today (Tuesday) I showed up an hour earlier than for my first try, so before 8.
There we’re 4 people waiting, but it was only two orders. Still I waited 15 minutes until it was my turn.
Again, I only ordered a Collada (yes with sugar – let the Cubans do it for you in their way, you won’t be disappointed !). It was a good coffee (3,40$ for locals).
Though, I actually was next in the queue, another person arriving after me, was welcome to order before I did.
Well, that is just a frustrating detail, especially if the main reason for my comment is the waiting time. This doesn’t help.
Anyhow, the lady at the window was nice and welcoming, just right (meaning not too much, not too less) the way a costumer relationship imo should be.
I hope this may help you figuring out how to improve your tasks.
Good luck for the future !
Again : i recommend, good coffee, but waiting can be very long...
Read moreFelix and his lovely lady run our favorite place in Key West! We went back twice during our visit and if he didn't have to run to Miami to get coffee on Sundays we would've been back 3 times! I wish I would've taken more pictures of all of the things we ordered but the mango smoothie was divine! We appreciated the paper straw, save the turtles 🐢 and the environment! I have a sensitivity to almonds but I wanted to try the guava pastry, he called his lovely lady- who makes them- to ask her if there were any almonds in the pastry so I could have one- and there weren't! So I can tell you get a guava pastry and a mango smoothie it is a great way to start your day! My guy started his with a café con leche and he said it was the best he'd ever had. We can also vouch for his breakfast sandwiches, we grabbed two on our way out of town! Felix has a bit of magic in that stand and if you want to start your day off right in Key West you should start it off with him! Until...
Read moreThis is tough review to write as I have no clue what cuban coffee is supposed to taste like. However if it's supposed to taste like what the lady at Cafelito served me then it's something everyone should try. I ordered what's listed as a traditional Cuban and it was a single shot of espresso (at least I'm assuming that's what it is) with brown sugar whipped into it. The very fine foam bubbles that form and get mixed in during the process lightens the texture just slightly mellowing out the intense coffee flavor. It appears they serve Cocaína Cubana™. I'm your average American with what I'm assuming is an average American ability to know coffee so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but this place does it right! It is a small unassuming place with no indoor seating (at least none that I saw). It's a walk up window that your order from. It was exactly...
