My family is a fan of Denny's but this location just had bad service. The prices were way higher than other Dennys back home. Being that is in dells area was likely the reason. Still we stayed to dine. My kids ordered from the kid menu and my mom ,my husband and I from the regular menu. My moms entrees and mine were 11 and 13. My husband ordered the grand slam which was $17. He was not happy with the plate for the amount though. His pancakes were super thin and watery and he was looking forward to the pancakes. We also did not have a good filled pankake syrup bottle, diet sugar packets or creamer for our coffee. The waitress was delaying so we just took from table next to us. When my husband told her before we took it though she scolded us not to because that each table should have their own items. Our table was lacking and well we got tired of waiting. The waitress just had a bad rude attitude to begin with. When they called us for seating under my husband's name, she point blankly asked me if I was Carlos. I responded that it was my husband as he was coming in right behind us with our toddler. She did not even apologize. Heres the kicker though. My son ordered a chocolate kids shake and I specifically requested a kid size shake and she even repeated it. When the bill came and I went to pay I mentioned that the shake was charged at regular price. The shake they brought to the table was with a silver cup which was unusual and I thought thats the way it was served at this location. The cashier called the waitress to ask about this. The waitress looked at me and blamed me that I should have known he got a big one when he got a silver cup and then to ask if he finished it. I replied that I don't work there and it was her error not mine for bringing a big shake when I orderd a kids junior size. She removed from bill but then went on to say that next time I should make note of it. At this point I'm just fed up with her service and attitude, no apology or accepting her error. I told her that there wouldn't be a next time as we wouldn't be returning. She said "good , we won't miss you." My advice is to avoid this location as their prices are high and especially with a waitress like that that mistreats customers. I am sure we are not the first or last customers she has done this to or will do this to. I would not be surprised that she will end up getting fired. There are plenty of other restaurants to dine at for same prices or less that don't come with the...
Read moreThought me and my family would come eat here after a long day at Wisconsin Dells. Came inside and got sat at a table, but you can clearly see that others were just sitting here, with kids crayons laid all over the table we got sat at, and old menus that were on it. Not a very good start, but I let it go. Crystal then took our drink orders then after a bit, our orders for food. I personally ordered the T-Bone steak that comes with two sides. Crystal then proceeds to ask if I just wanted the T-bone or if I wanted both sides with it. I told her I wanted both sides along with my T-bone and thought I’ve confirmed it with her that I do. But when my steak came in, only the steak came. And so I was confused, and gladly, my glorious girlfriend asks Crystal about the sides. And I understand that mistakes like that are made all the time. So none of that bothered me, and after a bit my two sides arrived. My girlfriend then proceeds to whisper to me if I notice anything with Crystal. I didn’t notice anything, but my girlfriend then tells me how different she is treating the other customers compared to how she was talking with us. That she was acting a lot more polite with other families that were arriving. Note that a party of 5+, an automatic 15% tip fee is added with the bill, and so I was thinking if she was treating us differently because Crystal is already guaranteed a 15% tip. After finishing up, we received the bill, and it turns out that the two sides were separately added onto the bill, making it a lot more than it should be. So we were able to talk with them and have that problem solved. Not only was our waitress unprofessional with us, I only put a two star on their food because my families experience wasn’t as bad as mine. My steak was bland, had a light grey color to it, and was no where near the medium rare I requested. The best part of my dinner was the hot sauce I ate with it. Not worth my time and money to come back. Not only did me and my family get treated differently by Crystal, it also seems like other families that arrived after us, got their food a lot sooner than we did. Thank the lord I am only visiting from another state, otherwise I’d be devastated if this place would be my local Denny’s. Would not recommend to anyone who’s visiting (or even locals) from out of state that are looking for a family...
Read moreSkip this place unless you're doing take out. Our first red flag🚩 was the notice posted on the door saying they were automatically adding a 15% gratuity to all tables of FIVE people or more. We were a table of 5 but 2 separate checks/family and they still added the 15% and then asked for an ADDITIONAL TIP on top of the 15% they already added. Second 🚩 was the wait to be seated in an almost empty restaurant with lots of staff. We were the only ones waiting to be seated, they passed us several times before finally seating us after about 10 minutes. The booth table was large but the vinyl seats were ripped making it uncomfortable to sit on in shorts. The menu was limited with several items covered with post it notes to indicate they were not available. Good part, the food was pretty quick and about what you'd expect for this type of restaurant. Final straw for me, I asked for a to go box for my remaining food. I was brought a foil container. When I explained I needed a plastic container for the microwave in my hotel our once pleasant waitress became stiff and rude saying plastic was expensive and usually reserved for their large catering orders. She leaves our table, comes back and throws the plastic containers on the table knocking over the ketchup before once again complaining that the plastic containers were expensive and then walking off again. So yah, spend your money else where or get to go food and ask for plastic containers if you're staying in a hotel or they will give you metal tinfoil. I highly recommend Monks restaurant that...
