Kilwins Ice Cream - Chocolate - Fudge — Restaurant in Lake Geneva

I like how you can see them making waffle cones right when you walk in. I thought everyone was friendly. To me they definitely had covid guidelines in use also. Ice cream was definitely good, in my opinion a little overpriced as well. Ice cream was too soft and was melting by time I got to pay for it and was all over my hands and the bag I was holding full of local merchandise. Made huge mess on park bench while I tried to devour it, so as to not make more of a mess. And on top of it the guy gave us one tiny napkin for me and my fiance who got a sundae. Don't get us wrong, we liked the place, but kindly hand out more napkins or make them available at checkout(or more obvious if they actually were there which neither of us saw any.) First time in my life I haven’t finished ice cream. Most of the choices have way too many things in in it or looked too artificial. No basic cookie dough or even plain chocolate chip. I settled on a raspberry sorbet and it was so bad I threw it away after a few bites. Tasted more like a snow cone with almost no flavoring. My husband had a butter pecan and said it was fine. Not good but fine. Very disappointed and will not return.

To their credit the store replied to my review same day. Unfortunately, I did ask the person helping me about plain flavors and they told me they did not have plain chocolate chip or cookie dough which was consistent with the tags. ’ve been to several other Kilwins in different parts of the country, and I have found some of them to be just okay. This location, in the heart of downtown Lake Geneva, looks similar in many ways, but I felt like it was more spacious. When we were there, they were making several batches of fresh fudge, and the smell was overwhelming and delicious.

It took me a few minutes to decide, but the staff were friendly and patient. I ended up with a few different cones: Kilwins Track, Salted Caramel, and Cherry. My biggest complaint? They gave me way too much — it looked like at any second it was going to topple off the top of the cone. :)
