Where do I start I have never been treated with such disrespect in my life or anywhere in the streets of Las Vegas until I went to cork and Thorn on August the 2nd for Nola gays tribute concert Marvin Gaye me and my husband reserve the table earlier in the day I received the confirmation email saying that I have table confirmed when I got there they told me that I don't have a table so I dressed up to go sit at the bar I don't think so I pay $40 to sit at the bar plus food and drinks I don't think so so I asked for my money back and the man and the white jean suit with the black hat that was at the door with his wife with the blonde hair and the white lady that was at the door with the cast on her foot attack for no reason because I wanted my money back to go eat at Red Lobster where I would have a better time and get a table the man totally flipped out on me because I asked him for my donation back and asked for my food and drinks to be canceled he proceeds to grab my arm and make a big scene at the door I spoke to the owner or the manager of Clark and Thorn and she knew who I was I spoke to the owner or the manager of Cork and thorn she remembers speaking to me on the phone if this is how black people are going to be treated in the streets especially black women then I'll stay at home I'll spend all my money on getting my nice condominium good and together so I can stay at home I don't have time to take our hard earned money in the streets to be disrespected y'all ain't got to worry about me no more every time I go to corkand thorn it's always a problem why every time I go out to these low budget little clubs it's always a problem invite the customer service that we pay for or just close your doors because it's not even worth it stop giving people what you want them to have and provide customer service that's what...
Read moreA spontaneous visit to Cork and Thorn after a night of drinking downtown lead to some great late night R&B music and vibes..
We just dropped off our rental RTC bikes and took a nature walk to Cork and Thorn via Google Maps. When we arrived at the door, the armed security did a quick check for weapons. One was wearing a bullet proof vest which I appreciated. They were very polite, friendly and professional.
We were able to get a table and the one of the security officers called over a server to our table to get our first drink order in. The place was packed! There's one main open room. The main stage showcases the DJ and there's numerous booths and chairs for everyone to lounge in and enjoy their drinks. You'll see hookahs on the tables for the customers that smoke them. It has wine bar decor but felt more like a ultra lounge vibe.
Our server was awesome but it appeared that there only two servers working the whole room! They were definitely hustling around but they could have used some help. Since it's one main room, we would just wave down our server whenever we needed anything and she'd head over immediately. The bartenders seemed a little overwhelmed as well as it would take about 15 minutes to get our drinks
There's no official dance floor but people were grooving in the open areas on the floor. The DJ was playing a great music of old school R&B and modern hip hop. The crowd ranged from 20s up to middle age and the vibe was good. Everyone was there for a good night out. We left around 12:30 AM and people were still coming in.
We would definitely swing by again as we're always looking for a venue that plays good R&B...
Read moreI love the atmosphere inside this place. It looks and feels very inviting. I love the decor and its presented very beautifully. I would give a 5 star rating if the food was not too expensive and it doesn't fit the size of the food serving. A piece of pizza cut into 4 pieces is $10 when I can get at least 2 whole medium size of pizza for that same price. I suggest, if your going to serve food, it'll have to be priced a little less, because the chances are people would buy more drinks and eat more if the food price kind a offset the price drink a bit more.
The drinks are absolutely delicious. I drank water that night and let me just say, it was some good water. Many places serve a "chlorine tap taste like water" but not here. It was absolutely delicious 😋. Also I tasted a Shirley Temple and that was on point as well. Not bad at all.
Stephanie at the door with Terry at the bar made it all worth the while! Love their spirit. They're very friendly and inviting people. Their customer service skills is well served 👌. Enjoyed their company along with the owner who served us that night.
Also lastly but not least, the location is hidden. We had a hard time finding the place, it is well hidden in between some buildings and there were no visible signs out on the streets to point and assist with finding it. The outside of the building should have some sort of neon sign with its name on it so people that are in cars could find it because all it has its a painted sign that you can hardly see it at night when you're driving through there. Would recommend this place for its...
