Read moreI Stumbled upon this treasure after apartment hunting in the Arts District. I was hungry for something fast, but I wanted to sit down to enjoy my food. Security did check my ID to enter(21+) , but he was very kind and directed me to the bar to find a menu and order food. It was around 8pm on a Friday, so there was plenty of seating, including these cute little couched booth areas. I actually wanted to sit in one, but decided to leave them open for bigger parties. I sat at a tall table near the bar and it was an aesthetically pleasing vibe with cool pirate’s artifacts shelved behind me and beautifully dim lighting. (My inner mermaid felt comforted). I ordered the “Pork and Bacon Cheeseburger” with a coke… AMAZING! The bacon was fresh, the pulled pork was juicy and the burger was tender! The chipotle mayo was a wonderful addition. The burger was served with chips instead of fries… and that was an unexpected textured delight. The bar tender suggested I try the pulled pork nachos next time. I’ll definitely be back for lunch. They do have WiFi, so I could definitely see this spot as an content editing...
Read moreI knew it had the Davey's Locker sign from that awesome dive on Desert Inn, but I didn't realize it was carrying out a pirate theme --I haven't been here since they first opened a few years ago, when it was just a beer bar with no vibe. But I went here again tonight and it was so much more interesting! I hope they eventually lay the nautical shtick on super-thick...so far it kinda-sorta feels like you're in a pirate ship, but I hope they make it even more claustrophobic and creaky. I'd like to feel like I was riding on Pirates of the Caribbean, ya know? But overall they're off to a good start; the drinks were reasonably priced and well made with fresh, quality ingredients. Shout out to Ricky!...
