I can appreciate a good vibe and aesthetic which this place has; however, I was extremely disappointed about our experience this weekend.
I made a reservation for my husband's birthday two weeks before for 5-7 people. I noticed that more people were going to be attended (and may or may not show) so on the same day, to be safe, I called restaurant/lounge and changed the reservation for the larger lounge area. The man I spoke with changed the reservation and also said that if I had 1-2 more people that would be able to accommodate which sounded fantastic to me.
That was not the case. We had two more people than the allotted 10 that were allowed to sit in the lounge, and while I respect following rule establishments, there was plenty of space to accommodate everyone; however, what appeared to be the owner "did not like their furniture moved" which we weren't moving anything. Two of us had to be seated separately across the venue away from the party. (I'd also like to note that two days later on an Instagram post, they posted another group that clearly had more than 10 people in the same lounge).
When I arrive, the hostess was stand offish. After telling my friends that there was no reservation under my name, she then refused to seat the three other individuals who had gotten their on time because "the entire party was not here." While I understand that is common, the lounge that we had reserved was completely empty.
When I arrived, the hostess said "Oh! You're FINALLY here!" as if traffic and parking isn't difficult on Friday night downtown and we were an inconvenience to them (even after I confirmed our reservation the day before). She seated us but said that the reservation was made for 7 people. She said the reservation was not updated when I called, but during our time there I magically received an email that updated it for me.
The hostess was also quite impolite to other members of our group that arrived after me stating that couldn't sit there because the party had reached capacity. Again - we were 1-2 people over at any given time and all could have sat in the area, and I was told that they would be able to do so when I called to change my reservation.
Throughout our hour there (we did not stay the entire time), some of the staff were friendly but it was really hard to get anything ordered. The food was overpriced for the amount that we received (a VERY small charcuterie board for the price) and the drinks were also pricey (but were good). The large lounge was seated right in front of the speakers which made it difficult to have conversations or even enjoy our time there. We all felt the advertisement for this space was misleading since it appeared to be for an intimate gathering for a group of people. All we wanted for our night was a place to sit, have good conversation, and have a few drinks. We knew that this place was not a club or anything - it was clearly advertised as a lounge which was ideal for us. The music's volume, however, was giving club.
Given the vibe of the place, it appears that the lounge is not the best way to go here. We did not get the experience we were expecting nor seemingly advertised online. If you want to celebrate with a group of people, do not come here, but if you want overpriced food and drinks and a staff and owner that does makes its customers feel like an inconvenience, by all means this is the...
Read moreSo I visited echo last night to celebrate a friends birthday. This was my 4/5th time going to Echo and either bringing an out of town guest or a local whom were not familiar with what I feel is a Vibe normally. But sometimes a vibe or cool place can fall short! So were did they fall short? when you make a reservation they ask, is there an occasion?! you give the occasion and No acknowledgement nor no free dessert or cocktail for the birthday person! That was a first for me .What is the purpose of asking?! 2.Me and my quest whom birthday I was celebrating & her 1st time in echo! Spent $160. in food and cocktails .No problem! But since I nor she could finish what we order, asked for a to-go container. Our waitress brought containers but 1 had no lid. So I ask for the matching top to the container and she said they didn't have any that are "clean for the customer but she could rinse one out and give it to me!!!! huh?! ugh No thank you! I believe that would be health violation! You all should have Clean containers with the lid for customers if they choose to take food home! or at least offer foil or plastic wrap! 3.Now we both order some form of a martini. birthday girl strawberry, mine lemon. every time I've been there I have order the same thing, to in which the Lady of color that works there knows my order. Love that and love her for remember details! Anyway the drinks were not good, tasted like puree fruit, juices and for what the charge of cocktail I should to be able to tell that some alcohol was added. So they were re-made because we just could not drink the "Juice Martini", Mgr. delivered them herself, nice. But in looking at the bill there was call charge added of $5.00 pus the martini of $14.00! We didn't ask for extra alcohol just a martini that didn't taste virgin! Now keep in mind I've been there 4/5 times and this is the 1st I ever complained or returned a drink there! So a lil disappointed especially bring a new person and this was the experience. Sidebar: She is a journalist....just saying Now because this place has what appears to have a woman of color owner or the face of the business. I will continue to patronize the business. Also I like the vibe and being in the service industry myself, I've shared this business with many of my clients! But I don't play baseball, So there is no 3 strikes with me! This was 1 and I'll chalk it up to an off night. I work hard for my money and don't mind spending it on quality and good service! Also we still tipped her 25% Do better, be better! Thing are hard out here for brick and...
Read moreCame here to celebrate a friend’s birthday with a group of 12. We were told we couldn’t all sit together in the lounge area because they have a “strict” 10-person max. Okay, fine—that’s your policy—but the way it was communicated was unnecessarily rude. The owner/manager (not sure) came over and said, “We only seat 10 people max and we’re firm on that! I don’t need you moving my furniture around,” and then just walked off. No greeting, no explanation, no effort to be accommodating. It totally killed the vibe.
What made it worse is that the lounge area has couches and seating for like 12 people? And even if we wanted to move the furniture , there’s absolutely no room to do that. The “lounge” is just a tiny space tucked behind the DJ booth, squeezed right next to the loud speakers. You physically can’t move anything around—it’s small.
Instead of helping us out, the only option we were offered was to have two people sit by themselves at a separate table, away from everyone else. So now two people are sitting alone while the rest of us are crammed in a space that technically had enough room. It was just weird.
We made reservations elsewhere and figured we’d grab drinks while we waited. But the service? The server kept disappearing into the back and never really checked in or offered to get me a drink since i was new to the table. I tried to order at the bar and was told I had to wait for a server. When she finally came by, she only asked one side of the group for drinks, then was gonna leave without even checking on my side again!!
Also, the music is SO loud in that little space behind the DJ booth that we couldn’t even talk to each other. I left with my ears ringing. I get it’s supposed to be a “musical lounge,” but the speakers placed next to the lounge seating is crazy. I’m sure it’s better if you’re at a table.
I work in the restaurant industry here in Vegas, and honestly, this whole experience was uncomfortable and disappointing. Cute concept, but the layout, service, and attitude made it a one-time visit. Definitely not coming back. Should be nicer to locals since we’re the potential...
