Lappert's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Las Vegas

Located in the Cal hotel and casino on mezzanine floor. Ice cream is excellent just like at home in Hawaii. It's really only available in tourist spots in Hawaii so don't have it very often, but had it daily whilst staying here at the Cal. Mornings they have excellent donuts and other pastries for breakfast. Was nice to have this place available in the hotel. Only thing needing improvement is hot tea selection. They only had food service quality tea which was lousy. A quality tea is important for many of us from Hawaii and Asia in general. Finally got to check out this ice cream shop since I was roaming around Fremont street. I got the two single scoop in a cup: Hawaiian sea salt caramel and Kona coffee. Both were creamy and tasty. The sea salt caramel ice cream was more buttery with a hint of salt. Yummm. The coffee has more of a dark coffee taste, which I also enjoyed. Also, the scoops are pretty huge, so you definitely get a bang for your buck.

This ice cream shop is located on the second floor of the California Hotel, directly above the Market Street Cafe where you get the famous amazing oxtail soup. So definitely don't miss...

Lappert's is known in the Hawaiian Islands and has several flavors. However, the macadamia nuts are not grown in Hawaii. It is good ice cream and when I have family/friends visiting downtown Las.Vegas I try to get an ice cream. Lappert's also has shave ice, coffee, tea, a small selection of pastries, cookies, snack bags of popcorn, water, soda, tropical canned drinks like guava, etc. Sometimes they have a little anpan and sushi.
