Gets a solid 3 stars from me, which is an average of the 4-star pizza slices and the 2-star customer service.

Pizza was better than the pizza I’m used to. But I’m from Hawaii, so what you gonna do right? Wouldn’t pass Portnoys floppy test, but great tasting sauce and the crust was above average. I ate a pepperoni side and a slice of the square “suprema”. 4-star pizza for me, maybe a 6.6 from Portnoy.

The angle this place loses stars is the customer service, but more specifically, the woman at the register. Look, this is Vegas, I’m not expecting friendly. But if you’re going to be gruff, at least be effective. This girl was neither friendly nor effective.

  1. the place is noisy. You know this. Why would you speak so softly when you KNOW a lot of your customers are old tourists. I cringed when I saw an elderly man trying to put in an order and this unaware chick keeps speaking in this librarian voice.
  2. speed. Not sure what it is. I watched seemingly simple orders take forever to get rung up. In the meantime, a line about 10 deep starts forming, and each customer is taking forever to order and pay. Customers fault? Her fault? Not sure.

Interestingly, the woman who was doing the firing and cutting of the pizza was awesome. She was efficient and had a very no-nonsense way about her. Friendly? Not at all. Effective? Hell yes, she was awesome.

If these guys can get their register girl to level up her effectiveness to where the pizza girl is, I think you have yourselves a 4 or 5 star pizza establishment. The pizza is great. It seems like you have a solid system of serving the pizza. I just think time is being wasted with this register chick, and her nonchalant way of working is holding yall...

Edit! New review: I had to take a star away. We liked this place so much we went again and ordered a NY pizza with pepperoni mushrooms and spinach and a drizzle of hot honey at a respectable 1am ish time. We waited in line for about 10 minutes, got to the front to find a little card that said cash only. No other visible signs or communication from the staff. Had to leave to go to an ATM and then get back in line.

LATE NIGHT CREW does not put the same love in making the pizza... This pizza we had was wet, soggy, falling apart when picking it up, the tip was like raw dough. Flavors were there but it was pizza soup... Not executed correctly. I get it, It's kind of late, busy, you get a bunch of drunk people... But we were patient and we had just had this place at 3pm and loved it so much, we wanted it again 10 hours later.

The afternoon, gentleman Hector, He made a pizza I will leave Vegas thinking about and missing. The pizza we had 1am will be a big sigh of disappointment.

So the flavor is wow, but depending on the time of day, I can't say you're going to get a great pizza, or a soggy soup with crust.

My original review:

Inside the Plaza by the parking lot. The Best New York pizza I've had in a long time. Including even from NY We ate a pepperoni mushroom New York style with mushrooms and hot honey. The guy who made it, made it with love. About 20 min wait for a whole fresh pie.

Oh and we got fries and fried pickles. So fresh and hot. And the ranch was delicious too!

Highly suggest if you like NY...

Had an unfortunate incident here at around 3:30pm on January 1st. Upon coming in for a slice, there was no Pizza; Just a few old slices sitting dry. I waited till a fresh pie came out & ordered a slice & I told the cashier that I wanted 7 garlic knots to go only if they could wrap it up in a container instead of a pizza box since I needed to put it in my backpack. At first she said yes. Then the cook tried to serve me a slice of old dry pizza with his hands & the garlic knots in a pizza box. That was no what I required. Then when i reminded them, the cashier & cook gave me very hard time about putting the 7 garlic knots in to a to-go container. They copped an attitude and were completely ghetto. The cook was also pulling apart slices with his hands which was a hygienic concern. They were acting like the to-go containers were made of gold, so I insisted on a refund. I'd never want to eat food from a place that staffs people with an attitude like they are working at 7-11 or Mc Donalds. This is at a hotel & they are serving guests. I remained calm & got my money back. Those staff aren't worth a reaction & unfortunately they are reflecting on the Plaza...

Extremely overrated and bad customer service. I heard about this place so I went out of my way to come try a slice. I was not greeted when I got to the order desk the kid just stared at me so I placed my order and he did not say much. Not very hospital. When my order was up the guy that was handing me my order replace the pizza on top of the packets of cheese that I asked for. It was real disturbing that he just placed it on top of the packets then just stared at me did not say sorry or anything like that. As far as the slice of pizza, it's not authentic to Detroit style. Big cheese was not spread evenly over the pizza. It felt a little doughy in the middle and the flavor was kind of bland. The eating area look like it had not been attended to in a while and that there was debris all over the floors some of the tables were not bust for the half hour I was there

5-Star Flavor! Chucked into the far corner of The Plaza hotel & casino next to the South Tower elevators and garage is in unassuming NY style pizza spot named Pop Up Pizza. Somehow affiliated with the Beastie Boys, this franchise pizza place offers Pizza, salads, breadsticks, beers, and other accoutrements. They also serve scoops of thrifty Ice cream and free refills on your. Our service was fast and the delicious pizza was on point. 18in large pepperoni was $25 out the door. The place was clean, service is fast, and the flavor will have you craving more. It's based inside The Plaza hotel & casino. They have approximately 10 to 12 tables. If you're in the neighborhood and are looking for a great slice of pizza I recommend you stop by.
